It’s frustrating that 2K are using only an 8GB card and making players have to download the rest. But I’ll tell you why I would still go with the physical copy:
Resale.
I know it sounds crazy, but there may come a time when you want to sell your Switch. I can’t foresee it myself, given how much I love playing on it. But I did sell my Wii U (which was just gathering dust) before I bought a Switch, and it was when I went to sell it on that I realised nearly every game I had was digital, and so I couldn’t sell them on as well. I ended up not getting an awful lot for it - much less than I would have if I had a good selection of games to go with. And of course it meant that I couldn’t recoup the cost of any of the games.
Hell, you might not even want to sell the console, but maybe you want to sell a game you’ve 100%’d and have no desire to go back and play.
Almost everything I own for the Switch now is physical. Same for my PS4.
