Also agree about Golf, there´s even a chapter on The Simpsons TV series that states this specific golf game as the worst ever, when Bart recieves it as a gift from Marge after giving up stealing video-games on marts.

Re: E3 2008: Miyamoto Discusses Limited Storage Space On Wii

Leaving SD on a Wii, specially if it uses Wiiconnect24 and no extra vents, can overheat and damage the SD and the SD slot. There are some files that cant be copied, plus you may also want to have songs or photos on the SD for the Photo channel on top of that cheap SD lose data or dont even work at all.

Re: US VC Releases - 14th July - Donkey Kong 3

It looks that many people here need a lesson or two about classic games. A classic game is a title that offers revolutionary new ideas (in gameplay, music and graphics) to the whole gaming industry (developers, gamers & journalists) therefore fulfilling its objetives; entertaining, drawing you into the game and so evolving along with the industry (like Space Invaders, Super Mario Bros and Super Mario 64, Street Fighter and lately Wii Sports). Trascending from the video game world into the Pop culture, and so not needing to be a gamer to know the franchise.

BUT MAYBE THE MOST IMPORTANT FACT IS THAT ALL THE CLASSIC GAMES ARE FUN. You play them because you get excited, relaxed or even emotive, NOT because you'll be punished in some way if you dont (Any Animal Crossing, most FFCC, Wii Fit ). And to do that they dont need graphics, variety, difficulty, 'deepness', not even a story behind (sometimes the fact of not being pursuing certain goal, not saving, not even any change at all like Pong makes you relax and truly enjoy the game itself, not your victory nor your achievements). I mean you wont play Chrono Trigger, Halo 3, nor Final Fantasy (many CASUAL gamers havent even heard about 'em) after a long day working and an upside down noon shopping, dinning, etc with your girl, but you will be always in the mood to play the well known Pac-Man, Donkey Kong (any), any classic Megaman, Mario Kart 64 or even Zelda OOT (games, horse riding, even just sitting to watch time pass, raining or landscape) for five minutes, this is what denotes a true classic.

Dig dug (and also DK3 and other games which its "classicness" was doubted here) happens to fulfill said premise since it was released for arcades amidst the space shooters 'boom' being from the genere maze/puzzle. It also was one of the first games that began to deatail the background and title screen, not only coloring it, but even interacting with (rocks, digging).

It may not be a Nintendo classic, its Famicom port maybe wasnt as innovative as the arcade version. But for sure it is a true gaming classic, anyone who denies it, havent learned even a wordof this beautiful world of video-gaming for sure.

PD. WHEN DID KEEPING SECRET PRODUCTS BECAME AN EFFECTIVE MARKETING STRATEGY? FIRST SECRET (AND DECREASING) VC RELEASES, NOW NO E3 NEWS ABOUT GAMES FROM NOVEMBER AND ON, NO STORAGE SOLUTION.

WHATS THE POINT? ITS THE GAMING´S HISTRORY GREATEST STUPIDITY - EVER - !!!

I just hope that vc releases dont go down (both; on quality & quantity) again before this small progress with many people satisfied and almost no complainments this Monday (this has happened countless times before). I dont care that much about Wii Ware (there are not good enough titles JUST speakin' FOR ME)

Re: EU VC Releases - 11th July - Neo Geo Duo

At least for now we can be almost sure that the change on release schedules was in order to have the same number of games on each region, so just maybe both can expect best releases comming, not about quality but in quantity at least.

Re: Drake's Ratings Roundup - June 2008

I hate to ruin the party, but ... Havent you wondered what if the 'Earthbound' game rated by the ESRB were actually the Famicom version being imported? (If you remember that was also the name of the Famicom game for America before it got canceled, which would be the same case of SMB the lost levels, which was released under its american SNES name) Personally I would prefer the Famicom game being imported, since its cheaper and easier to get the SNES version original cart, even boxed than the Famicom one (which, on top of that could be translated to english, and even if you got the Famicom cart it would be in japanese) or than the beta NES Earthbound ocasionally found on ebay.

Re: See Mega Man 9 In Action

^^^^^^^^ I totally agree !

Just look at my avatar =)

We might sound like Cranky Kong but its absolutely true and sad how most kids and even developers (Microsoft) today think games are only good with high def graphics.

Re: Only Geeks And Otaku Want Extra Storage On The Wii

Nintendo is making a great effort to scare off of Wii core gamers

1. Bad and few VC releases.
2. Refusing some classic third party franchises.
3. No announcing for new Wii Ware and VC (in order to save cash for it)

... And the great ending ... WE GOT INSULTED

Re: MSX Hits Japanese VC, Includes Special Options

alxtlvra

I'm curious to play Eggy for MSX because I havent found any photos, videos or info about it, not even on Wikipedia, (that little plus about the options for the Wii virtual console MSX games is really interesting and helpful enhancing the emulation and gameplay experience) I'd also like to see Mayhem in Monsterland for C64, but "first things first" lets hope for both systems to hit America.

Re: US VC Releases - 26th May - Metal Slug

Wonderful week, if it wasnt by SNK launching "SNK classic arcade games vol 1" for Wii in october... I mean whatsthe point in wasting 900 points per game if you can have them all in a single disc WITHOUT WASTING MORE THAN 3 MEMORY BLOCKS, the only game not in the disc is Blues journey ... and its not that great.

About City connection, its one of those great games which saddly only experimented gamers and collectors give him its true value.

But the games I´m really waiting for are Alex Kidd for Master System, Pokémon ranch for Wii Ware and I´d like to see Genesis 32X (CD) games, specially 'Knuckles Chaotix", since it hasnt been ported to any Nintendo console. I also love classic Nintendo games, but thats why I prefer to buy the original consoles and games on e.bay, not for vc.

Re: Alex Kidd in Miracle World

alxtlvra

I´m waiting for the day it comes out, the main reason I bought the Genesis version of Alex Kidd was because I liked THIS game, and the Genesis version isnt even close to miraqcle world.

The only game I'd prefer to be available is the one in my display, Alley cat, an old DOS game from IBM, just dreaming ...
