"it feels a bit like an overly long Mario Party minigame"
There actually was a Volleyball game just like this in Mario Party 5 as a bonus game.
The fact that there is only one ball in dodgeball is laughable. The snowball fight minigame from Mario Party 6 is probably 10 times better than this dodgeball game.
I guess Reshiram would be the woman (except for that one odd protrusion) and Zekrom would be the man, though I've preferred Reshiram ever since I first saw them. I actually think these are some of the best looking Legendaries to come in a long time. A lot better than Palkia and Dialga, that's for sure. I like the starter Pokemon as well. Oshawott, I choose you!
Having a completely new game as a launch title is a great idea actually. That way, more people will give it a chance since there isn't as much competition. It worked for Luigi's Mansion.
I'm just not sure I want to play this after playing the awesome TvC. The gameplay in SF just seems boring by comparison. I know there's a lot to the game I don't understand, but every time I play it at Wal-Mart, I don't like it at all. With that said, I still want it.
And I just have to say, no one ever complained about the Super Mario DX on gameboy or the Super Mario advance games on GBA. Those were a single game from this compilation for the entire price of 30 bucks. Those games received HUGE praise.
If you bought these games on VC they would be 21 dollars. So with the added packaging, CD, Booklet, and the fact that you actually get the games in physical form, I think this is a great little package.
The demo was good but it didn't totally convince me to buy it. I didn't like the way the water separated so easily at first, until I got the ability to bring the water together into a ball, which made the gameplay a ton more satisfying.
I don't understand what the big deal is. If everyone is complaining about the graphics being ever so slightly worse, then you probably shouldn't be playing the Wii in the first place.
Well Retro Studios has done it again. Bravo! One of the best developers in the entire industry, but they still don't get enough credit since they make Nintendo exclusives. Retro Studios is like the new Rare, I just hope they don't have the same unfortunate fate that Rare had. Nintendo better hold onto them.
I do thank Treyarch for putting the effort into making a good game for Wii that is close to matching all the features of the HD console versions. I wish the wii got more support like that.
I have Goldeneye and haven't played Black Ops yet, but I think Goldeneye is fantastic and I think Black Ops looks good too. I can only compare Goldeneye to MWR and WaW, but I personally think the maps in Goldeneye are a lot better than any COD map I've played on (Treyarch has a history of making really awful maps, btw). I also like that weapon power is more realistic in goldeneye. In COD, the weapons take an obscene abount of bullets to kill someone, and don't get me started on the pistols. It takes like four or five shots from the 50 cal desert eagle to kill someone. What? I never liked sniping in COD but I love it in Goldeneye. Shotguns sucked in COD but are awesome in goldeneye, as they should be. All the weapons seem to have the right amount of power in goldeneye, except the nerfed AK-47. Black Ops at least has a headset, but do I really need to here a whiny, foul mouthed 13 year old screamin in my ear? I'll pass.
And one more thing I'll say: in COD games for wii, the lag was always so bad that hit detection was unbearable. You had to lead them by a few feet if they were running perpendicular to you. In GE, it's spot on and almost never lags for me.
@ labrat7, I looked it up, and Club Nintendo Points DO expire. It says they will expire after two full Club Nintendo years (July 1 to June 31). I don't understand why they would expire, it makes no sense. Because of this, it looks like I'm getting the Mario fan (cuz that's what I am) and the hanafuda cards. I actually think the fans are very reasonable at 300 coins when you look at the prices of everything else.
Wait a second...PLEASE TELL ME OUR CLUB NINTENDO POINTS DON'T EXPIRE! I've been saving them up for something good and I have well over 1000 coins. How do we know if they are going to expire or not? Will they warn us? Will they just delete them? Please no!
I got the game yesterday. So far it's pretty awesome. Great graphics, great combat, and amazing cutscenes.
It's kind of dark on my tv though. I wish there was a way to change the brightness in game. I can't change my tv's brightness because i don't have a remote.
I bought the original for 15 bucks and still felt ripped off. The online is terrible. Each match takes way too long. Who cares which map gets in, they all suck. The maps are way too big. Most of the map is wasted because everyone goes to certain locations.
Why would anyone play this games online over modern warfare: reflex's online? MW is a ton better and is actually fun. I never had fun playing the conduit.
I'm on the final tour, the Brillia Tour, and it is insanely hard. There are so many obstacles that are basically unavoidable. And when your trailing behind in a race, all the good lanes are taken up and you are sometimes "pushed" into obstacles. Like fixjuxa said, it is like F-Zero in that you have to memorize the tracks. And the AI seems a bit cheap.
One thing I noticed, it's like the opposite of Mario Kart. In this game you aren't helped when your in the back of the pack like you are in Mario Kart with all the best items. And it becomes easier once you take the lead because you can choose any lane, whereas in Mario Kart you're always getting hit with crap. Just a thought.
I've been playing this game since yesterday, and it gets really hard. It kills me that this game doesn't have multiplayer. What racing game doesn't? I'm surprised the reviewer didn't bring it up. With it, it would be an easy 9, but as it stands, I agree with the 8. There doesn't seem to be much replay value with no multiplayer
This is a great game, but who else is having a really hard time with level 3-10. I've probably played it over a hundred times and still haven't beaten it.
@ Shiroyu: Well, Nintendo Power's complaints were things that were left in the game. Granted, it was like a two sentence review, but they found it frustrating that you have to go back to the beginning of a level every time you make a mistake.
My only critique, and it mainly applies to world 3, is that the backgroud and foreground occasionally become indistinguishable. One of the early levels on world 3 had one spot where I repeatedly couldn't distinguish what was what.
After Nintendo Power gave it a "Hmmm?" I wasn't sure if I'd get it. I let it all ride on NintendoLife's review, thinking I'd get it if it got a 9 and think about it if it got an 8. Boy was I surprised to see it got a 10. I'm now going to download my first ever Bit.trip game.
This looks ... hard. I used to have a game like this on my TI-83 Plus blue silver back edition. I think Light Trax will fill all of my "moving line of light" needs.

Why can't they just cut out some stuff to make it fit and release it for a little cheaper? They must have a pile of meat for brains...

I can't believe they would actually put a trailer on the Nintendo Channel for this. The whole trailer constisted of looking at a fireplace.
Re: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Blocked Marvel vs Capcom 3's Wii Attack
I'd rather have TvC. MvC 3 has no baroque, megacrash, or universal air dash. Lame.
