I actually want to physical own the games I pay for. Digital retail games are a no-go for me especially since Wii U games are tied to the console and not an account like how PSN works. Plus I have a download cap.
At least all of NoA's blunders has finally encouraged me to learn japanese and do a lot more importing. So even if NoA continues being a lost cause, I'll never worry about missing out on physical copies (well at least until japan stops loving physical copies) , ridiculously pointless censorship and mediocre localizations.
My experiences from playing the Japanese versions:
Space Harrier, Super Hang-On and Galaxy Force II are all great ports Tons of extras and the 3D actually adds to the gameplay. Well worth the money.
Ecco The Dolphin, Shinobi III and Streets of Rage are pretty much straight up ports. The 3D is pretty much on the same level as Kirby's Adventure 3D and the only things added are different difficulty modes. Ecco plays really smoothly with the circle pad. If you've never played them before, they're a good place to start.
Sonic the Hedgehog and Altered Beast are the worst of the whole set. Altered Beast is the mediocre genesis port not the great arcade version and Sonic is extremely bare bones. The mobile port of Sonic is way better, tons more features and extras. The 3D classic has none of that.
Damn, I was hoping for Afterburner 2. Super Hang-on and Space Harrier were great, but Sonic 3D was a little underwhelming. It didn't nearly have enough options and the 3D was barely noticeable unlike the other two Sega 3D classics.
I'm going to be a bit hesitant picking this one up.

I've learned something about Ono over the years; Don't believe his lies.
Re: Fire Emblem to Start Japanese 3DS DLC Service in 2012
As long as they don't take content from the original game and resell it as DLC like many companies do today, I'd be fine with it.
