Well yeah of course it tanked performance. Doubling the RAM doesn’t increase the power of the console. The GPU still needs to push those pixels to the screen. No amount of RAM will make the CPU/GPU faster. But it’s still a cool project 👍🏻
Ocarina of Time is overrated. It gets a lot of undue credit because of nostalgia and what it did new and how it made players feel at the time.
I never played it when it released. I played it only very recently and was very surprised at how “just ok” it was. But I came at it with a clear perspective untarnished by rose colored glasses of nostalgia. Honestly I expected so much more because of the way people praise it. But more directly addressing the subject of the article, Hyrule Field is a barren borefest; just as it is in Twilight Princess. Though unlike The Minish Cap it doesn’t benefit from beautiful pixel art. The extremely dated graphics only highlight the ugliness and lack of anything remotely interesting. I wouldn’t put Ocarina’s Hyrule Field in even the top 20.
