Re: "Nintendo Isn't That Smart": Pachter Says Nintendo Should Scrap Switch And 'Only Have Switch Lite'

VGVESTOR

This analyst originally stated that the Nintendo Switch (Codename NX in development) was too expensive ($300) and not an affordable alternative to the PS4 and Xbox One. He also stated in 2015 that third-party support for the Switch did not look very promising. He also stated that the Switch would sell 5 million units by 2018. The Switch sold almost 20 million units by June 2018 and is now over 65 million units. I know that this guy’s schtick is to try and get attention in the VG Sector, but he certainly has a history of not getting it right with Nintendo but scores some impressive points with his flip-flopping.

Re: Video: Our Early Impressions Of Ring Fit Adventure On The Nintendo Switch

It appears Nintendo has taken exergaming to another level with an engaging RPG format with exercise, sounds brilliant. I wonder if there’s a cycling part of the game/workout à la Wii Resort Sports? It would be great to incorporate Map My Ride data for us hardcore cyclist and hopefully Nintendo incoporated a training format or reference to the Tokyo 2020 Summer Games.

The 2012 Wii Fit sold over 22.67 million copies and we still use the Yoga & Strength training several times a month. Like any exercise it’s about occasionally having a tad of discipline to push oneself away from that extra-large pepperoni pizza (*PIM) and semi-leap out of sluggo mode and move one’s body. It sounds like Nintendo will make exercising fun for those of all ages and that’s a positive especially for seniors. *Pizza in moderation

Re: Nintendo President Believes Switch Can Meet Sales Goal Before End Of Fiscal Year

VGVESTOR

Most of the analysts consistently discounted the previous Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima’s projection (March 2018) of 20-million- units, this became even more evident during the slow period (mid-summer) leading up to the holidays. One VG analyst for Wedbush stated that Nintendo would sell only 8-million-units for the entire financial year.

It now appears (obviously) that Nintendo will get close to that 20-million-unit mark in fiscal year-end March 2019, but this original projection perhaps aided in the slowing of their stock price during this period. Perhaps the executives should back off on specific future unit quantities for the good of the shareholders?
