Re: Feature: Why I Still Love My Wii U

My fiancée passed away a month prior ro the Wii U launch. We had bought our first consoles of the GB and N64 while in college, had our first midnight launch and subsequent heady launch window excitement for the GC and Wii with the latter we had both been addicted to Wiimote fps online with CoD, trading go's and swearing at our online enemies, and then after 15 years I was suddenly alone. For the first time I didnt know if I'd get a Ninty console on launch, but I did, and it was everything to me without her. Black Ops 2 was the first CoD I 100%'d online, it gave me a release and helped me through the most difficult time in my life. And I just love the console and it's wacky games in general. It was the perfect distraction. And lately it also gave me the best way to play Mario Kart 64 which we played daily well into the GCs life, and Excitebike 64, another game we played together and swore whenever the other swept the front wheel from underneath us. Videogames, eh. Underrated.

@TexanSansei you can't just "that's just my opinion" your way out of a terrible opinion; DKR is an absolute classic with a game type all its own never copied, and arguably beats MK64. And yeah the bosses are hard AF but that's part of the appeal because it's a proper challenge.
