I agree with you 100%. Maybe it’s my age (in my 40s) but there was really something special about having that 3D world in the palm of my hands. Coming from the 2D into 3D it felt like a refinement of everything that had come before - taking everything about Mario that had come before and giving it to us in portable form. I am also influenced by the ‘New’ 3DS XL being my favourite console of all time.
@Ralizah I have a collection of 1126 games. About 85% of them are unplayed. I used to believe I would play them all but had to reconsider when I calculated, at the rate I play games, I will be in my mid-90s when I finished them all. And that’s without buying anymore titles.
Sometimes when I am updating my spreadsheet, cataloguing the latest game I have asked myself why I do it. Your reply really clarifies some of the different motivations and impulses that floated around the back of my mind. I really appreciated reading what you wrote. Best thing I have read in a while. And I mean that.
I know. I just was on Amazon and thought I'd type it in. It was there yesterday but I hesitated. Didn't know they would sell out of pre-orders. It's a shame
@ROBLOGNICK I have never played the game and I prefer to buy physical. I learned that the Archeologist version (base game + DLC I believe) was available for pre-release on Amazon here in the UK for £35. It has already sold out. Probably end up listed on eBay for £100
