I'm usually an absolute sucker for Collector's/Limited editions and I was hanging on from buying a physical Spiritfarer copy to find out what this Collector's edition would be like. After seeing this, it's a hard pass from me. $200 is absolutely ridiculous for what you get in this edition
@Otoemetry sorry to hear you're having exactly the same problems we've all experienced with regards to missing out on pre-orders, not sure if they've still got them available, but Game UK still had stock of the Metroid Dread SE when I last checked so if you quickly snag one on there you can safely cancel your order at My Nintendo Store
@MS7000 @RupeeClock I'm actually holding out for GAME all of a sudden saying "All existing pre orders get the keychain, poster and stickers!"
A similar thing has happened with multiple releases in the past, most recently Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Skyward Sword all of a sudden got pre-order bonuses. I wouldn't be surprised if this happened, then we'll be laughing
@RupeeClock Yup I had exactly the same problem and experience you've just had, they told me the only thing I could do was to cancel the special edition order and place the order again with different payment details. I told them no I cannot do this because the item is now out of stock on your store and probably won't be coming back in stock at all. So they just said "well nothing we can do then, bye"
Absolute joke of a store and customer service. I'll never be ordering from them again and I'm advising everyone I can to avoid them like the plague
Honestly I would advise everybody to avoid ordering anything at all from My Nintendo Store (particularly the Europe/UK) unless absolutely necessary. Not only are they one of the most expensive places to order from in general, you can almost always find it much cheaper elsewhere most other places, but they're an absolutely shocking setup for taking people's orders and dealing with customer service.
They don't allow you to change payment methods on any existing orders you have made, even if payment hasn't already been taken (i.e. for pre-orders that charge on dispatch) which meant that recently I completely missed out on a special edition which has very quickly been completely scalped and no stock left. Their reasoning for this is "security concerns" which to me translates to a badly built back end system which can't handle any changes to records and orders and just breaks and falls over if this happens. Their pathetic solution to me was to "Cancel the order and place a new order" and I told them I couldn't do this because the item was now out of stock and is very limited and wouldn't be available again etc. and their reply was just "Sorry nothing we can do. Bye"
They also take ages to alert when something comes back in stock, which you typically only really want to do for very in demand items, super limited collector's editions, and by the time they alert you, whatever was available has already gone and is being scalped
In summary, they're one of the most useless stores and customer service teams I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I'll never be ordering from them again unless I absolutely have to
I've been a long time lurker on this site. Seems like a great community so I've finally decided to actually start actively commenting since making my profile nearly a year ago haha
So I'm super interested in Dragon Quest 11 - I've played many JRPGs in the past, mostly the Final Fantasy series, but I've never played a Dragon Quest game. I'm pretty much sold on this game already, and it's looking like the Switch version improves on/solves many of the main gripes and problems I've seen people having with the previous versions of the game.
I have a couple of questions though, if anyone is able to help:
Firstly, a much simpler question - the new Orchestrated soundtrack that is included with the Definitive Edition, is that soundtrack just some of the whole soundtrack and music? I thought I read somewhere that the open field and the battle themes have been newly orchestrated, but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer for whether every piece of music in the game is orchestrated?
Secondly, I have SO many games to play at the moment. I have a huge backlog, with FE:3H being at the top of it, Astral Chain pre-ordered, downloaded and ready to go, got the BOTW DLC in the sale ready to go, still working my way through SMM2, Links Awakening and Ori newly announced on the horizon. Safe to say I have plenty to play haha. So Dragon Quest 11 is an absolutely enormous game with hundreds of hours worth of content - I've seen some people have sunk over 200+ hours into it.
Would people recommend this is worthy of playing asap and prioritising? Like I said, the game looks fantastic and I'm pretty much sold on getting it, I'm just thinking where to put it in my play order haha

@MS7000 Agreed! Their backend systems are a joke, they won't allow people to update their payment method for existing orders
Re: Fancy A Switch OLED For £800? Scalpers Are Already Flogging Pre-Orders
@RiasGremory I completely agree. I've spoken to eBay about it before and it's a big problem all over the site

Scalpers are just scum. Never buy from them
