Re: Talking Point: Your Favourite Nintendo Christmas Memories

SuperLink

I can see that you all have some really amazing stories of the 8-bit glory days (praise them), but I do not have a story with the same epic propotrions. Although, a it was a very exciting day when, on Christmas, 2006, when I was furiously unwrapping presents, much like how the small Nintendo Sixty FOOOOOOOOOOOOUR child clawed at his box. I had a gut feeling that I would be getting a Wii that year, but I still was not sure.
I was on a quest you see, a quest to find the long awaited present, the treasure........the Nintendo Wii. I kept opening the bigger presents my mother had gotten me, in hopes of finding the box for the Wii (I opened one big box, and it turned out to be a waffle maker!), but when she suggested opening some smaller presents instead, and saving the slightly bigger ones for last, I had no choice but to agree, 'cause she had this look in her eye that said "I know what you're looking for, but there are some good presents besides that, so quit being disrespectful and open a smaller present, dang it!"
So, I walked over to the tree, with a disappointed look on my face, knowing that my exciting quest was on hold, when I spotted a small rectangular prisim-like object...the shape of a video game box. I went down to open it, when my mother saw what I was doing and shouted "No, wait, STOP!". It was too late.
It was an Avatar the Last Airbender video game...for Wii. Well, apparently, I was supposed to open the Wii first, and not the game as not to ruin the surprise of GETTING a Wii. But it did not matter. It was still a joyous moment of my life when I saw that little gray word: Wii, in the top right-hand corner of the box. It was like seeing the future, eventually, watching me complete my quest....eventually. So, as you might guess, the hunt was back on, and this time, wrapping paper would fly. Whe I saw it, I screamed, much like the small child in the video, with all the joy in the world........and then I played the Wii for the rest of the day.

THE END and Merry Christmas!

For all those who were bad-mouthing this game on the review page: Let me remind you that this was all for nostalgia. NOSTALGIA! Don't scrutinize, and count out every little thing that annoys you it to the point that it's just dead on the ground!

Re: New Kirby Patches Have Club Nintendo Rewards All Sewn Up

SuperLink

If anyone is still reading these comments, I have something to say.

If you are an american and there is a Club Nintendo reward you want in the UK, and its really pricy looking, well, if the UK ever does bring their prizes over to the US, I think that the price ratio "Coins:Stars" is 1:5. If you want that in higher terms, it's 100:500. Meaning that 100 US "coins" are equal to 500 UK "stars". It's just multiplacation from there to figure out what the price of something that you want, but cannot have due the fact that it is not in your country yet. YET. (Multiply Japanese prices by 1.6 and you'll get the American equivalent)

You might think "Okay, why do we need to know that ya weirdo?".......my response: I don't know....I'm just sayin.

Re: Review: Super Mario All-Stars 25th Anniversary Edition (Wii)

@mariofanatic128 I see your point, and I was going to go into how the new extras could classify it as a new "remake", but again, I kind of see your point now. That would have been nice to have the NSMBW graphics, but with those graphics, would they have had enough space for all four games? And I also see that you don't want to play and pay for something that you played and payed for however many years ago it was when SMAS came out for the SNES. But, again I say, it's a lot of nostalgia (and a collector's item), and that is what I think Nintendo was going for here.

Re: Review: Super Mario All-Stars 25th Anniversary Edition (Wii)

Okay, maybe you all are right, but, come on, can't you just appreciate a nice little collector's item. I mean, THEIR JUST MARIO GAMES, simple ones too. All you have to do is just have fun with them, not stress out over every little detail. It's just for nostalgia, isn't that what you all like? Plus, with all that extra stuff you get, $30 is (not great, but) reasonable. Just keep in mind that it is a nice little piece of history, a collector's item.

P.S. Plus, all this bad-mouthing about Super Mario All-Stars will probably get you something, since Nintendo remakes everything with a better something for example: Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, all of the DS remakes, and even Super Mario All-Stars was a remake, and the list goes on. So go be excited about the next remake of the remake of the remake, and stop driving this version of the game into the ground.

Re: No Love for Super Mario All-Stars in UK Top 20 Chart

Let's not forget, the whole box comes with a mario history booklet AND a CD, so it's not JUST about the game. And there's also for the people who have never played the original, this will be a good little platforming package for them. they will get to see what nintendo did to bundle 4 great games together. It's harmless platforming. And don't forget, it's just a little 25th anniversary gift...nothing big

Re: No Love for Super Mario All-Stars in UK Top 20 Chart

Well that's a little upsetting. But then again, most people have already played all these games (in super mario all-stars, I mean) and don't see the point in doing it again. I for one, love a good platforming when I can get my hands on one. Maybe they were scared off by the game being in 50Hz. Hmmmmm? I really want to get it because it comes with well, first of all the games, a history booklet, and a mario song CD! Yay!

Re: Yes, People Really Did Buy Donkey Kong Country Returns with Bananas

Well, now that gets me to thinking, with a stunt like this, maybe they'll do this for other games: gold coins for Mario, rings for Sonic, rupees for Zelda (I don't know how you'd get rupees though), and I don't know what you'd do for Pokémon, since the poké-dollars don't really exist.....unless you use the money from the Pokémon Monopoly game. Hmmm...
