For the 3rd Purple Coin (10 coin) it's after the first checkpoint where the water pushes you down and up. In-between there is a long question mark box. Where the water current is pushing you up there is a missing set of blocks. Hit it and a secret purple vine should appear and that is where the 3rd purple coin is.
