The "professional" Smash community is a cesspool of toxicity. Nintendo probably does not want to associate themselves with the community because stuff happens, and when it does, it reflects on them. Ally-CaptainZack-Bocci ring any bells? Leffen? Salem? Melee Diehards vs. New Game Diehards? Hungrybox getting a crab thrown at him? Some of these people have serious character issues, are very immature, and give Smash a bad name. I get that there are good boys like MKLeo, but there's so. Much. Drama. Junior high level stuff.
@Ghost-Piece well said. I have reservations about Nintendo giving the green light for China until they clean up their act. Partnering with Tencent (just another branch of the Chinese government) to make a heavily censored console is not a good look to the free world. I guess the potential money was too much to ignore.
@SmileMan64 China is a genocidal country that commits war crimes against their own people. They strap them down, no anesthesia, cut out their organs and scoop out their eyeballs as the victims are left to die a horrendous, gruesome death. All this goes to a ridiculous, quickly distributed organ supply and to scientific research to benefit those who score high on the social credit system. Not to mention the Orwellian social credit system itself and invasive mass surveillance. Do you really think you are so much smarter than us because we care about the citizens?
China is evil, moreso than most realize. Be thankful you live in a decent country. You get to enjoy an uncensored Nintendo system and the extra bonus of living free- free enough to make a stupid comment online and continue living your life unhindered, as it should be.
@switchvogel can you edit the review to state that it comes with Treasure Trove and can also be purchased standalone? Maybe mention that there isn't an online component? We have sharp people in the comment section, but of course, not everyone reads the comments.
Aside from that, the review was thoughtfully laid out with plenty of details and I am looking forward to playing the game. Thank you.
Picked it up when it released and put it down a couple days later. Not as good as the full console experience to me, and the microtransactions and gameplay systems reek of pay-to-win. That said, I may give it another try. Maybe I'll get lucky and get the Smash reject.
@Woomy_NNYes third party dock issues do not have to do with the dock, it has to do with the power source. You need to be able to use the official cord because it has a chip that regulates the electrical flow so it doesn't fry your switch. It looks like the official charger can plug in, so there should be no issues in that respect.
@NEStalgia channeling his inner JoJo. He'll never forgive the Japanese.
Gens 6 and 7 were mind numbingly easy. 8 is worse. The only obstacle that had a modicum of difficulty for me was Leon's Charizard. And it wasn't what would be considered "hard". Luckily, most people do not play Pokémon for the story. Not knocking you if you do, but that's my experience.
Sword and Shield were fun games with great things like the wild area and quality of life improvements, but taken in context with the rest of the series, it leaves a lot to be desired. From the lacking jump to HD, Dexit, Game Freak lying, raids being poorly designed, and Masuda refusing to even consider a full dex in future games, there is plenty to be disappointed about for longtime fans. The last issue in particular is what worries me. Hopefully The Pokémon Company gives appropriate manpower, a better budget and a lengthy development time for Game Freak's next POKÉMON project. I hope they have also learned from Dexit. Although I'm not holding my breath for any of this... The video games that started it all are not on the priority list and that is obvious to anyone that has been playing since the early days since around the time of X/Y. I sure hope they learned from the backlash to their terrible decisions this gen. Although the concept of the "gen" has been broken. Diamond/Pearl remakes will be Gen 9. But that's beside the point.
I have to disagree respectfully with @Kalmaro on the box issue, I would much rather it be in than out. I just chose to use it for QoL as opposed to cheesing the game.

Best business decision is to stay far away, imo.

Bizzare timing though.

Re: Feature: Best Pokémon Games Of All Time
Lol at X/Y over Diamond/Pearl. At least Sinnoh had a postgame.
This list makes no sense seeing as how certain games of the same region in the same generation are so far apart.
At least HG/SS get their due respect, but I would personally put gen 5 at the top. Pokémon peaked on the DS.

Re: Join The PC Master Race On Your Nintendo Switch With PC Building Simulator
My goodness, so many people getting offended over a
harmless meme.
I've always wanted to learn how to build a PC but haven't been able to afford parts. This seems like an appealing avenue.
