C'mon ppl... it's a fricken tablet. Why would anyone with half a brain expect this to be on par with a console? Nintendo knows where it makes its money at and where the support is. That is its handheld devices. Always has been and always will be. Regardless of the power or graphical stats, it's pretty much in a great spot for support. The handheld and dedicated console departments were combined. Furthermore the 3ds is dated. This is its next step. It's a smart move on Nintendos part to combine it. We all worry about the third part support but look at an aging device like the 3ds and tell me how it's doing with its third party support. You all worry to much because of the WiiU. The WiiU was a great "idea" but the handheld was better. The switch is both.
Images on a smaller screen will look better at a lower resolution because of pixel density. This is why when you look at TVs at a store and you look at a smaller screen and it says 740 and then look at a lager screen and it says 1080 but you hardly notice a difference.
I can live with 740 on a handheld if it means better performance. You're not going to see a lack of 3rd party support over this. Nintendo's handheld support has always been great and that's talking about an aging device. I don't think we will have to worry about games for this console. Even though Nintendo has stated that the 3ds will continue to get game what looks like until at least 2018, I imagine that with this being the next step, more support for games that would have been previously on the 3ds will start dedicating its time to the Switch. Where else can the 3ds go at this point? Why would Nintendo compete with itself? That wouldn't be smart "business wise."
I am sad.... they didn't present anything new other then eshop stuff..... E3 better be HUGE!!!!! Otherwise Nintendo, this will be another lackluster year.

This truly proves Nintendo NEEDS great titles to bring in sales. This isn't even an original games, its a remake, and look at what its done. People want a Wii U, but they needs great titles to get them to buy. Nintendo, get with the program buddy! This is honestly getting pathetic. I really want Nintendo to do great!
In 2006 everyone cried over the fact the Wii was underpowered and didn't compare to Sony or Microsoft. The system went on to outsell both. Nintendo has learned that power isn't everything. Sure you can make an awesome looking game but if its boring or no fun it won't sell. Also, Nintendo is purely a gaming first system, Xbox is focusing too much on TV and entertainment as a whole, Sony is... Well.... Sony.
I also imagine (as well as read) that games developed for X86 architecture will be more expensive to develops for. I read gamed will be somewhere in the 70 - 80 dollar ballpark. With that in mind it no wonder why Sony said that they will start making profit once people buy their first game. Spending 60 bucks on a new game already seems too much, I can't imagine forking out that extra 10 to 20 bucks.
I'd say if the price rumors are true then the big N is in a good spot, just like in 2006. Its the cheaper system that can still deliver top tier AAA games everyone can enjoy. Just like with the Wii and DS as well as the 3DS, its just having a slow start. 2014 is Nintendo's year, bet on it. Watch the profanity and offensive anecdotes please — TBD
Im kind of surprised that Nintendo didnt do this as well with the game pad. Its got everything the classic and wiimote have combined. I think the only problem is that the wiimote and the game pad use to completely different frequency to communicate with the system. The wiimote uses IR as the game pad uses bluetooth. The wii games were not developed to use bluetooth since its not in the games coding. But the communication between console and game pad can still be achieved via bluetooth. Its a bit convoluted but its very understandable. I dont see nintendo achieving the ability to use the game pad as a controller in the near future. Unless wii games (not wii u games) in the future are written to use bluetooth. Just my thoughts.

You guys miss an important fact: pixel density.

Re: Video: Here's How The 2DS Stacks Up Against Other Handhelds When It Comes To Stamina
Buy another battery for back up? it would be kind of a pain to have to unscrew the back every time your battery needed changing though lol
