I am an older gamer, love Nintendo games, but never took a shine to Pokémon.
If they want to catch me, they should go back to the beginning. Pocket Monsters: In the Beginning…(Genesis ref.)
Take me to the time when catching and discovering pocket monsters was new. Show me the original traps and monster balls used to catch these charming and sometimes dangerous creatures.
For me, a big world where they just roam around waiting to be caught and trained is just not interesting. The sense of discovery, studying, capturing, and ultimately training these creatures is just not compelling for me.
I love turtles, but I wonder if they would still be fascinating if they wandered around by the thousands…
@Bored_Cosmic_Horror I would love to find a way to advocate for older gamers as well as gamers who may play games in less traditional ways due to injury or disability. Games should be accessible to as many people as possible and having to resort to watching someone play the game online is not the original intent of a video game, imho.
I thought the first game was a bit too hard. When you get older, font sizes and degree of difficulty become real issues, and I appreciate companies that include difficulty settings and display options. The aging population of gamers might opt out of games due to these issue.
I would love to buy the game given its low price and high quality, but brutal difficulty is becoming an issue for me. I am just not as good of a gamer as I was in my youth, plus time to put into a game is not always on my side.
