Re: Talking Point: New Nintendo 3DS, Operation Faceplate NA and the Bigger Picture

@ecco6t9 exactly, in their own words they've acknowledged that this decision would be a big let down to their fanbase. This sets a risky tone for such a company and it's incredibly disrespectful to those who have supported them up to this point.

I'd like to think I'm one of nintendo's most important customers. I'm the guy that buys multiple consoles and copies of games to have fun with groups of people that would otherwise not be in such a demographic. Little else you can do for hours packed like sardines. I always assumed nintendo would provide as long as I paid good money for their products.

But NOA had sent a very blunt and condescending message to their fans. This psychologically manipulative method of hyping a "you can't have it" product is beyond outdated. It's simply rude and demeaning.

You trolls need to stop asking why we'd want something like the N3DS and start asking real questions to Nintendo of (skipping) America. They deserve the trivialities, not the fans who've been waiting since last year for a chance at one. I'm not happy to post on sites like these for hopefully obvious reasons. Every other part of life is filled with frustration, and Nintendo is supposed to be a sanctuary from those things- for a nominal price of course. This situation is the definition of preventable.

@daveh30 obviously that's not what I meant, especially in such a negative light. If you'd define unrestrained, hopefully you'd see what I mean. I meant people with nothing holding them back, like money or particular whimsies. I know Nintendo doesn't owe me anything and I don't owe them either, that concept is void. But there is nothing wrong with knowing what you want for $200 in 2015, and it can be agreed that this situation is silly. Would you be so critical with Damon Baker's statement?

It's heartbreaking really. They're willing to damage what little trust of consumers while underestimating the intellect of their own core base. Of course they knew it would infuriate the dedicated and the New XL would entice the unrestrained, and now they're really giving us the finger. I don't approve of this style of marketing at all. But as one user has already posted, the damage has been done. I like Nintendo a lot less because of this, and they're completely okay with that from what I've gathered.
