Re: Nintendo Provides Official Advice for Switch Joy-Con Connection Issues

Roarsome

I had the problem and it was making Zelda unplayable as the left joy con would just stop responding on all inputs for a few seconds. Quite the immersion breaker. But I had set it up with the dock tucked away down the side of the TV with a chair in the way of it. My problem is I have a highly curious one year old son for whom flashing lights and clicky buttons are like crack so I have to put the thing where he can't get it.

I've ended up putting it on its side in the entertainment centre. Fixed the joy con problem but it's a bit more fiddly to get it in and out the dock. Was planning on getting a pro controller anyway so the problem will go away, but it is all a bit tedious.

Also, the idea that someone can simply move their wireless speaker, or soundbar in my case, to make way for the Switch is laughable.

I still think the device is amazing. It'll be a portable console for me primarily so all this is a bit of a side issue for me.

I can't wait for this. Looks like it's going to be great silly fun when there are groups of people over.

I can see why it's not a pack in; some people will hate it as it's the exact opposite of their idea of what a game should be. Packing it in would put people off buying the Switch.

Nintendo's smart idea here is to make the Switch different things for different people. Some will want it as a home console, some a portable. Some want casual party games, some want big experiences. Don't like 1 2 Switch? Fine! I don't like Call of Duty or Fifa but I don't get riled that they are always the best selling games of the year.

Personally I'll be getting Zelda to play on the train commute, then 1 2 Switch and Mario Kart for when friends are over.
