Re: Nintendo's President Apologises For Not Being Able To Meet Switch 2 Demand

Also,

As someone who has lived in Japan and does travel there...

Their lottery system is notorious for making EVERYTHING hard to get. You need a lottery system to just get into a popular store or eat at a cafe.

They have such a high population density and a large large tourist industry that squeezes everything.

For the Switch 2 they could mitigate some of this with moving supply around. But they may be scared of moving too much from NA with the threat of tariffs messing up the pricing structure. So they want to stockpile in USA while they can.

@Narrator1
I walked into a store and got a WiiU a month after launch with zero issue.

Switch 2 seems to be also pretty easy to find without much trouble (but not because of neglect from the public want, more because they made A LOT of them)

Japan seems to have supply issues, as they diverted so much to NA. Europe never seemed to have issues throughout the process (pre order to now)

Re: Yakuza 0? It Can't Be! Check Out David Hayter In Sega's Switch 2 Launch Title

If you are playing a Yakuza game in English you aren't playing a Yakuza game.

And as AMAZING he is at Snake (making the English voice actually better than the Japanese voice in MGS) this sounds and looks AWFUL!

The Japanese voice acting in these games is top notch and leads to the J-Drama atmosphere of the series. Having English voices just ruins the entire immersive experience and makes everything seem fake.

Re: PSA: You Can Still Play One Game Across Two Switches, But Not Online Anymore

Retrohero

Two steps forward and one step back.

The same game online on two systems was nice. But this new VGC method makes it easier to simply "load" or "lend" games to my kids when they want to play them.

Before I had my son's set to primary and mine was secondary and had to be always online. Not an issue UNTIL the Switch 2 hits (as I assume I will want that to be the new primary).

For my needs this new system is better.

Re: Braid: Anniversary Edition Sales Have Been "Utterly Terrible", Says Creator

It isn't rocket science just add up the following

1) older game that has not kept with the zeitgeist. It doesn't help the dev doesn't make games at a more frequent rate, which keeps his work out of the spotlight.
2) Jonathan Blow is continuously making himself no friends with his online presence
3) It is a Netflix freebie. So anyone with a Netflix account can just test it out thay way

Jonathan Blow is a horrible person, with a really messed up worldview.

ALSO

He is an amazing game designer and has a real knack for creating puzzles and level design that is uncanny.

The Witness and Braid are designed almost to perfection.

But the story behind them, the other stuff Blow jams into his games is so hard to take in. Witness in particular was a problem with these incredible and clever puzzles that rewarded you with horrible philosophical discussion.

It is like playing a great game by the most condescending egomaniac that wants to tell you how awesome he is at every opportunity.

It hurts me playing his games because there is greatness in there. He is the LAST person I want to listen to on commentary, even though it is valid since it is his game. But every time he opens his mouth I feel sick.

If you want a clever game with great puzzle design that DOESN'T talk down to you or have problematic elements, play Outer Wilds
