Re: Review: Mana Spark - Not Quite Heaven-Sent, But Still Worth A Look

QubicGames

Hi everyone. Thanks for the review Eric! I hope you guys don't mind if I put a comment here to address two points:

1/ I wanted to deliver a quick tip on how you could get Mana Spark for a cheaper price (these tips are worldwide):

  • There is a 50% Owner Discount available until 14th January if you have Astro Bears Party, Robonauts, Pirates: All Aboard!, BRAWL, One Strike, Coffee Crisis or Escape Doodland. The first four games are now available on a super sale (up to -90%) so basically you can get any of them for a $1 or less and save $4,99 on Mana Spark.
  • There is a 20% Owner Discount available until 14th January if you have Coloring Book, a totally free game.

The same tips are true for the 4 other games we release in the next few days (Wondershot, Koloro, Super Hero Fight Club: Reloaded and Odium to the Core).

2/
The version reviewers could play before the release date has some performance issues that affect loading times between levels and progress saving (it can be lost). However, a patch will be automatically uploaded to all devices tomorrow just as the game is releasing. So players won't feel any of these issues.
We wanted to inform you about this in case you read something mentioning these problems (although we tried to make the press aware of this Day 1 patch).

Happy Holidays!

Re: Review: Grid Mania (Switch eShop)

QubicGames

Thanks for the review! Regarding this sentence "It’s genuinely impressive how much content QubicGames has managed to create out of a simple 6x6 grid", I just wanted to give kudos to the game's developer FX Valley (http://fx-valley.com/)

Re: Review: AiRace Speed (3DS eShop)

QubicGames

Hi all!

@Xtremetdifan
There is no multiplayer mode which allows you to race against others directly. 16 levels are time trial and 2 endless levels are about how much distance you can fly with a limited number of lives. There are ranking leaderboards to compare your scores online, for each level, with all players around the world.

@BulbasaurusRex
Technicallywise it must be better than AiRace, yes. But gameplaywise it's just different overall. It doesn't have the same features intentionally. AiRace Speed is a time trial racing game which focuses on speed, 3D immersion and tricky sci-fi tracks. Not on racing against competitors with power-ups. It's a full game which delivers a specific gameplay experience.

If you have questions about the game or want to share your reactions/experience, I'll be happy to read/answer you on this official thread: https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/eshop/airace_speed_3ds_eshop_discussion_thread1

Re: Review: 2 Fast 4 Gnomz (3DS eShop)

QubicGames

I wanted to let you know that the demo of 2 Fast 4 Gnomz is now also available in Europe through the 3DS eShop (it was already available in North America).
If you haven't played the game yet, this is the perfect chance to try your skills out!

@Oregano @xDemon720x
Tunnel? Definitely, but I believe the DSiWare version was far too easy and we're hoping to change that
But seriously, we're hoping to lauch Tunnel earlier as a separate game
(it is a different game after all).

@pizzacore
It's a long wait and you'll need a lot of practice so I'd honestly recommend buying AiRace this week

Re: Interviews: QubicGames - Gnomz (WiiWare)

QubicGames

@Omega @BenAV
It's just what market looks like now. We've analyzed the market data, talked to other developers and WiiWare gamers and most of them told us the same: there's no difference between 800 and 1000. I'd love to release WiiWare games for 200 or 400 points but sales don't justify that. We don't make the rules and need to adjust to the market.

It's not ripping off, the game's definitely worth your points.
Remember that at the end it's you - dedicated gamers, who decide if the game's successful.
And I'm sure you will enjoy Gnomz.

@Tech101 @xDemon720x - it's not simply porting from DSi to 3DS.
We're creating a whole new game with different planes and levels. Remember that everything needs to be designed (or redesigned) to support the 3D effect, better graphics, new sounds and music etc.
