I really appreciate your take on revisiting games with a slight shift in approach or expectations to give them another chance! I've started DKC TF and Mario Galaxy many times over the years, and never got far in either. This despite listening to both soundtracks frequently and loving the other games in their series. For DKC TF, your mention of holding "roll" not making you run like in previous games - and causing some mistrust in the controls - is spot on for me. I think that's the single reason I haven't played more of the game even though I want to. I'll give both these games another go.
@TheSaneInsanity turn off "Keep Wired Connection Active in Sleep Mode" under Settings > Sleep Mode. When this is turned on, and you leave a game open during sleep mode and docked, the console gets warm.
