Splatoon 2 supported native voice chat in LAN similar to how fortnite does it. It was fully functional when the game came out. That would make it seem to me it wouldnt be too difficult to have a simple party and messaging system intergrated in the switch. I see no reason to use the app over discord when i mostly play with friends.
@Mountain_Man for me the game, in artstyle, feels a bit like a less cartoony version of wow, im not saying its fully cartoony but more in a way that a resolution drop for textures isnt visible as quickly/easily as lets say it is for The Witcher 3 or Star Wars Battlefront 2
The reason the filesize is that small is most likely because they used assets from the PS3/Xbox 360 version and since the game already is a bit cartoony to begin with, upping the resolution/polycount on some assets and the general resolution of the game itself would already make it look good enough, anyhow, im excited! Could never get into the pc version with the point n click controls
