Serena's Eevee that later evolved into Sylveon was confirmed as female years ago. Even was called "she".
Look it up on Bulbapedia if you don't believe me. Or maybe watch the episodes she appears in.
Also, a Dragon-type or Steel-type Eeveelution would be cool. Imagine "Robo-vee" being the steel type. Lol. Nah, I can dream.
