@Tharsman Analysts have been wrong before, and analysts have been right before. We have yet to see if this one is right or wrong.
It's also incredibly unfair to group all analysts into the category of "know-nothings." The vast majority spent years at universities, studying economics or business or something similar, and are much more knowledgeable in their field than anyone else.
@yvo84 to be fair, they also mentioned cloud gaming and Switch-like mobile systems (like the recent one from ASUS). We've yet to see if either of these will take off, so it's too early to conclusively say how the Switch will fare in the future.
@Spoony_Tech their point is not that consoles are becoming outdated (and even if it was, the PS4's lifetime sales would not be a good metric of this; the bulk of PS4 sales came years ago, so if consoles are just now becoming obsolete, this wouldn't affect the PS4 much). Their point is that the Switch itself - whose reason for existence is console-quality portable gaming - is getting rivaled by devices like the recent ASUS Switch-like system and cloud gaming systems like Project xCloud. Granted, this is a rather hasty assumption to make; cloud gaming has yet to be done effectively by anyone (Google Stadia was a flop), and we don't know if the ASUS system will be any good, especially with the lack of Nintendo-quality first-party exclusives.

Re: PlatinumGames Reconfirms Second Announcement On Its Brand New Website
I hope it's another game in the NieR series, or a Switch port of Automata.

This makes a lot of sense. Somebody who has a normal Switch can buy the Joy-Cons, Dock, and box and have an Animal Crossing Switch. I can't believe that nobody has put this together yet.

@Spoony_Tech it's too early to say though. Even if it does have a higher price point, it could lure consumers in with the ability to play PC games.

Re: Nintendo Just Applied For 39 Trademarks
@GetShulked It's probably just because those games are some of the oldest, so their trademarks needed to be renewed.
An N64 classic would be amazing though
