Re: Interview: Meet Antony Del Rio - Voice Actor for Pit / Dark Pit

LordessMeep

Unfortunately, I was put off by the voice acting in a KI:U montage video.. which is why I have not picked up the game yet. Well, that and the fact that I can't seem to get a hold of a CPP attachment over here, much less a copy of the game. >.< I should point out though, I am very picky about which voice actors I like in general, so no big deal. I tend to enjoy Japanese voices a lot more (eg: FE:A) or the few phrases that Mario/Luigi/Peach tend to say in their games. :3

That said, like @aaronsullivan pointed out, Nintendo should contract the bigger names in the industry for voice work for their western releases. Like the Japanese FE:A, for example, employed a whole lot of famous voice actors - voice actors that had already made a name for themselves in the anime industry (Sugita Tomokazu, Koyasu Takehito, Okamura Akemi and Kobayashi Yū to name a few) - so the quality was top notch. That is not to say that amateurs need not apply.. case in point, Bastion. Logan Cunningham did a phenomenal job as Rucks and that is the kind of voice acting I would love to see in games.
Regardless, good for Anthony. Seems like he would be returning as Pit for SSB4.

Re: Crytek: Crysis 3 Was "Very Close To Launching" On Wii U

LordessMeep

I believe the last EA game of mine was that DRM-ridden Spore (which was, despite its various shortcomings, really fun) but my younger brother is still enjoying the same FIFA 11 for his PSP to this date. FPS isn't a genre I enjoy in general and Crysis 3's trailer didn't interest me in the least. I can see why people might have wanted to pick this up but, like @Farmboy74 noted, EA missed their opportunity there. In this drought, like the now-delayed Rayman Legends, a quality title like Crysis 3 would've sold quite well.

Re: Ubisoft: Rayman Legends Delay Will Result In A Better Game For Wii U

LordessMeep

They may be improving the game but the fact remains - would Rayman Legends still sell in as much in Q3 as it would've in Q1? Only longtime fans of the series would be dropping money on RL while other, bigger, titles would get priority over it. On the plus side, hopefully the added content would be good enough to appease the people who would buy the game.

Re: 3DS Stays on Top in Japan, but Wii U Falls Behind Vita

LordessMeep

Well... seeing how the console has been out for just over three months now, I'd say there is very little reason for a panic. Come Q3 2013 when there WILL be system sellers and if the Wii U doesn't sell then, that's when we have a problem. Also, what @AbeVigoda said.

Off-topic - DQVII's sales look pretty good. Fantasy Life's, not so much. Still hoping for both titles to be localized.

Re: Review: Ben 10: Omniverse (Wii U)

LordessMeep

My younger brother and I used to be huge fans of the first season, but then I lost touch and he turned eleven. Not entirely surprised at the score, though. Also, couldn't have put it better than @TheAdza up there. It surprises me how good TV shows rarely have good games.

Re: New Fire Emblem: Awakening DLC Details Battle For Attention

LordessMeep

Yes, Bride class! The DLC is pretty great - so far I just have the entire Champions of Yore pack. I'll hold out till I finish planning out my future purchases (Luigi's Mansion, AC:NL, Harmoknight) before putting all my spare dollars towards the rest of the map packs. While I'm pretty rubbish at the game (but enjoying it on Classic nevertheless), I'm looking forward to the Future of Despair ones.

Re: Rumour: Rayman Creator To Part Company With Ubisoft

LordessMeep

If Ancel happens to go indie, the best bit would be the fact that he already has an established fanbase. However, if this means letting go of his ongoing work at Ubisoft, I'd say he stay with that company, finish his games and then get out.
He'd have no control over Rayman anymore though. :/

Re: Hardware Classics: Nintendo DS Lite

LordessMeep

Aw, man, THAT model! I believe that was what got me into Nintendo gaming (after Super Mario Bros). We weren't as well off back in school, mostly because my parents were trying to put me through a fancy-schmancy private school, so I didn't actually own the consoles until later. But I recall these two weeks when a friend of mine swiped her younger brother's DSLite, and kept it with herself in our hostel. The thing only had one game on it - Super Mario 64 DS - and while we weren't as dexterous as he was (the kid had racked up some 54 stars within two or three days of having the game), he had unlocked all the mini games.
We just ended up playing the hell out of that Bob-omb sorting mini game, amongst others. I've had a good few weeks with that system, and I'm just glad I can play many of these classics on my 3DS (in washed out colours).

Re: Talking Point: The Year of Luigi Could Bring a Burst of Creativity

LordessMeep

I've been anticipating Luigi's Mansion since the day they announced it... though I'm still a bit disappointed that they missed out on the Halloween release date. But, with merely a month or so to go, I am looking forward to Dark Moon.
New Super Luigi U, on the other hand, sounds like a great concept... but I can't help but feel that they'd be just switching out Mario and replacing him with Luigi. Essentially, one would be paying extra just for a character swap. I have little liking for 2D Mario anyway, so I'd be happy to be proven wrong on this account.
Dream Team seems pretty great as well... but I'll be waiting on the reviews for this one. I've already maxed out my budget for 3DS games this year, with so many brilliant titles coming out! The Year of Luigi is proving to be rather good for the 3DS.
