We reported last week that the official Bravely Default: Flying Fairy Twitter account hinted at the game's localisation in the West.
A follow up tweet has emerged; we have no doubt that fans who were eager to hear some news replied to the original tweet expressing their excitement for the game:
It seems that there is some interest being shown for the game, so how long will it take for the game to get a Western release? What do you think of this news? Let us know, as always.

I can't wait!!!
Better be Bravely Default Square!! Better be..
Seriously. Pleeease Square, localize this game!
I would love a meaty RPG for my 3DS. I am enjoying Xenoblade on my WiiU ATM, but I would really like some portable RPG games.
Just confirm it already!
In future news: Bravely Default: Flying Fairy is confirmed for US... on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch only!
@Bobhobob A spiny storm awaits the Square office if that happens.
Square... come on y'all. Pull through on this one. Make it happen.
@Smitherenez
The DS had a ton of them if you want, the 3DS is starting to get some, at the moment only Tales of the Abyss, Kingdom Hearts 3D, Paper Mario: Sticker Stars, Etrian Odyssey IV, Code of Princess, and Fire Emblem: Awakening are worth getting. Other digital RPGs on the eShop like Unchained Blades, Picdun 2: Witch's Curse, and Crimson Shroud are also worth playing too. There are also upcoming ones like SMT: Soul Hackers, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Dragon Quest VII, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Monster Hunter 4, Project X Zone, Pokemon X & Y, and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team coming too. My hope is that Bravely Default, Fantasy Life, and Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland all got release for NA too.
@retro_player_22 I know I am going to get Mario & Luigi and Monster Hunter for sure, I love both series. The rest of them don't really appeal to me. It's the art style of Bravely Default that caught my interest. I live in The Netherlands, so most of the games, like Fire Emblem and Code of Princess are still on their way. Now, I still need to find a job to fill my wallet with money for the rest of those games.
Really hope they will give us an official news soon about a localization!!!
But really no hurry about the release honestly... Already too many title are coming to the west and if BD will come out around summer I will need to clone myself for get to play everything XD
In the event that it's localised, I sure hope they don't change the name to something unfunny.
That's SE code for, "We know you'd like a localisation, but I'm sure you'll prefer Bravely Default: ios Edition & Final Fantasy XII-4! Coming Westward 2014!"
This should be good. Is the Dragon Quest VII remake coming west? If so then that should happen as well.
Please stop teasing me Square and just localize it...
yes come on square, you know you have to do this.
Come on already!
I had managed to give up hope on this game, but this twitter feed is really making it hard to not start hoping again!!!
Keeps seeming more and more likely each week.
Yay! I would love to play this
It seems like this guy is pulling a Christian Svennson on us. For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, Sven is a Capcom exec that kept dodging questions for two years before MH3U got announced.
@TheLilK98 it is the same thing. If it's going two be 2 years mind i would rather he had'nt mentioned it yet.
This game better turn out to be worth the wait! Regardless, this is good news. I'm looking forward to the official announcement of localization if it happens at all.
I just hope they do not shoehorn the Final Fantasy name onto it so it will sell more copies.
Dat article picture!!!
Ok Square, all you have to do is announce it is being localized. Don't pull a TWEWY iOS, please...
English please
please please please!!!
60-80+ hours of text is going to be a while. I think square enix had bravely default for a eu or usa release before the second wave of petitions started.
Gimme gimme gimme!
I don't want to be pessimistic about this, but sheesh, Square's always been... ngh... notorious for its attitude towards anything but Japan when it comes to localization, the ultimate example of which being the so-called "International Version" of their games (seriously, just look up "Kingdom Hearts Final Mix" for one of the most infamous examples - even though the first KHFM is finally making it out of Japan with the PS3 rerelease, and with it the included PS2 remake of Chain Of Memories will see the light of day in Europe as well... cue the flying pigs).
I really fear SE will give us the middle finger with this one and say, "No Export For You"! (I always have to quote Tv Tropes, alright.) And if the game making it to North America is wishful thinking already, let's not even get started with Europe ("Europe"? Europe?! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, said the Square-Enix execs).
You know what? I think I'm going to buy this game when it comes to North America.
Oh yeah, I forgot to state exactly why I feared Square would "pull a Final Mix". Western localization for the first Kingdom Hearts Final Mix was teased a lot.
And yet, most execs (recalling the EA example now) think microtransactions are how you make money. Nope, localization is how you make money. Make sure as many people as possible get to play your game, then we're in business - literally speaking.
Looks like a really gorgeous game. I have heard good things about it so far. Will surely watch out for this if it's localized.
E3 reveal?
Yay?
I bet if it IS coming here, they will save the news till E3. THAT is news you announce at E3.
Square is trolling. They just know that it will sell well wherever it's released
SQUARE ENIX WILL RELEASE THIS GAME IN THE US OR THEY WILL SUFFER MY WRATH
@pariah164 That's my guess, too.
really hope that Bravely Default Flying Fairy comes to the US and Europe. This games looks outstanding, the graphics design is amazing. I was even thinking of buying a Japanese Nintendo 3DS XL the problem is I don't know the language. I always wanted to learn but is not just reading as one cannot enjoy the CG movies to the fullest with only understanding 1 word or 2. Rosetta is the best way to learn the language but it costs around $200, and it takes time to learn it.
I wish most of the people in the US and Europe would request this game, as well as E.X. troopers, Beyond the Labyrinth and Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney. I'm not so interested in games that will never hit the US because of content that is inappropriate at least to some US people, games like: Senran Kagura and a few others that focus on Hentai style anime involving panchira and clothing fetishes that are popular in Japan. No Thanks I really would prefer JRPG and MMORPG style games that can be played on 3ds. I really hope its not just a rumor and that it hits US and Europe before Christmas, don't think could wait that long. Gotta keep positive.
