Re: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Will Run At 1080p on Wii U

@3dbrains @Burny

Hmm, well, this is a bit embarrassing. My source that tells me that games like ZombiU and Rayman Legends will be running at 1080p is the same source for this story (WiiUDaily). While I am 100% sure that MH3Ultimate is running at 1080p (upscaled or native, who knows at this point), I got the 'stats' on Rayman Legends and ZombiU from Wii U Daily.

However, a few people have informed me that that particular site has been known to present rumor as truth.

@RetroGBHippie92 San Diego Comic Con is bigger, and has more stuff to do, but some people claim that it's drifting away from its roots, focusing more on TV and other media.

I haven't been myself, but my friend (who has been to both) says that New York Comic Con sticks to the geeky roots more than San Diego does. Also, if you go to New York Comic Con, you can also check out New York City, which is tons of fun.

Re: Wii U and 3DS Pre-Paid eShop Cards Spotted

What I want to see is some sort of cross-compatibility. That is, if I redeem $20 on the Wii U eShop, I should be able to use that on the 3DS eShop as well (and vice-versa). Obviously there is the obstacle of Nintendo not using some sort of centralized account for users, but maybe this could be overcome by linking a 3DS with a Wii U?

Re: 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors Gets A Reprint

@sillygostly I think the problem there is that Rising Star Games is handling the European and Australian publishing for the second game. They don't have any publishing rights on the first game, so it involves more work on their part to publish the first one, which is a 2 year old DS game.

Maybe they think it won't be profitable? Granted, you can always import 999, since DS games are region free (even on 3DS).

Re: 3DS System Update Locks Out a Lot of Flashcards, Permanently

KneehighPark

For those wondering about the tech behind this block:

I believe it has to do with the integrated circuit (IC) where saves are stored. On normal 3DS cards, save files are stored on a save IC somewhere on the game's printed circuit board (PCB). Most flashcarts don't have a save IC.

So the update detects if the cart inside the 3DS has a save IC. If it doesn't, the cart is blocked. Hence, there is no software workaround.

Granted, flashcarts don't run 3DS software as of now; people were using these flashcarts to run GBA and DS games, but good on Nintendo for blocking them.

Re: Ace Attorney 5's Heart Scope System Detailed

@KodyWB-98 Thanks! I would definitely consider checking out the Ace Attorney 123 HD release this Fall. It's only out for iOS devices, but it packages the first 3 games together with slightly better graphics. Coming from someone who owns all the games, it can be very hard to get physical copies of some of the games, especially if you want them in good condition.
