@SmaggTheSmug This glib sort of response to Labo (and many other things people build for purchase these days) continues to stun me. To reduce this to "cardboard" is rather disingenuous. As you piece these together, you can see this as a work of ingenious design, so the design itself really should be added to the value of the cardboard production itself, which, as has been pointed out, isn't cheap, especially with this order of complexity.
@NightBeast Because developers know that app stores are a toxic wasteland of race-to-the-bottom pricing and in app purchases to buoy so-called "games." That's why they charge a fair price at their first opportunity outside of mobile stores, and I fully support that idea within reason.
@techdude 100% agree. This is the most spot-on assessment of the game I've seen, at least one that falls in line with my experience. The game is one messy frustration after another so far. I've barely been able to play more than a couple hours because it's so annoying (and buggy). I'm planning on continuing the game, but there's no incentive at the moment. Very surprised because I do like WayForward a good deal, and NL isn't usually THAT far off.
When I hear about frame rate nowadays, I grit my teeth a little bit. I know it "matters," but it really, really doesn't if the game plays well and is well designed. To some people, sub-60fps is tantamount to a game NOT playing well, and frankly, I'm glad I'm not like those people. Some of my favorite games of all time had hilariously terrible frame rates, but I guess you just had to grow up through those eras to have any perspective on it at all. As nice as 60fps is, I consider it icing and not cake.
This goes doubly so for people who obsess over resolution...
You're totally right. I didn't even see there were two other pages of settings in the menu! You can adjust both "event" and regular vocals all the way down. Lots of nice options. At least the Japanese vocals are very nice. The English dub genuinely makes the game hard to play/enjoy. Truly awful. I guess you could enjoy it in a B-sort of way, but nah... not for me.
Hotel Dusk is one of my favorite games. The dialogue and characters were so well done, the art style rocked, the mysterious vibe was fantastic, and even if the puzzles were often too obtuse, it was a terrific world. Cannot wait for this.
@Stu13 That would be amazing. I'd really just like to see Treasure games coming around with more regularity. Favorite third party of all time, for me. Their games are just fascinating and weird, especially the insane gameplay mechanics they come up with every time. Headdy was a blast; hard as heck!
Did you ever play the follow-up "Legend of Oasis" on Saturn? Fantastic, but my copy was glitched, and I never saw the end. A door wouldn't open after I defeated a tough boss. I'll always wonder....... haha.
@Stu13 "Beyond Oasis" was developed by Yuzo Koshiro's company Ancient, not Treasure. Was there another reason you might've connected the two that I missed? Now, if you're talking Action RPGs, I'd kill for a Light Crusader sequel. Flawed game, but brilliant, too, like many Treasure gems.

Alternate headline sub-heading: "A Bridge On The River Kawaii."

@MonkiPlays That’s not at all how reviews work.

Re: Review: Disgaea 5 Complete (Switch)
@greengecko007 It just rubbed me wrong, sadly. Maybe I'll give it another try. Enjoy!
Re: Review: Disgaea 5 Complete (Switch)
@itslukec And utterly failing... haha.

Re: Review: Disgaea 5 Complete (Switch)
@itslukec You can't turn off the voice acting, but you can change it to Japanese, I just confirmed on my copy. That's good enough for me!
Re: Review: Disgaea 5 Complete (Switch)
@itslukec I most agree. In fact, the only reason I went ahead with a purchase was that I read it contained the Japanese voice acting as well!
Re: Nintendo Download: 11th May (North America)
I'm looking at the US eShop right now, and Rudymical is indeed out and ready for purchase.
