Re: Best 18+ Switch Games For Adults

Yeah, you are absolutely right about horror deserving a slot here, and honestly, I can think of two right off the top of my head that has such disturbing and adult content that I absolutely feel it deserves a place here.

Outlast: Bundle of Terror (with Outlast 2, technically), and Dead by Daylight. I am telling you now, I would be very uncomfortable having children playing either of these games, moreso the former than the latter, but both are definitely applicable.

Seeing a list like this not include the fantastic Skul: The Hero Slayer is an absolute tragedy. Embodying similar gameplay to Dead Cells with the unique mechanic of swapping skulls to essentially change characters during runs, it makes playing through that much more exciting, particularly with its brutal difficulty. Especially with the recent Black Mirror update, which made some seriously impressive improvements on the base game, it is definitely a game that should be looked at alongside the best of these other roguelikes.

While I have a few games I'm wanting to play through, two immediately spring to mind.

First is the original Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, part of the Trilogy collection on Switch. Honestly, I just need to burn my way through the fifth case and I should be done with this game soon, moving on to Justice For All!

Second most prominent is my return to Skul: The Hero Slayer. NL never covered this factoid when it came out, but there was a new expansion to the game called Dark Mirror, where everything becomes much harder, the enemies and bosses are different, and your life has never been in more danger than it has now. If you haven't picked it up, you should check it out as a good alternate to other roguelikes such as Dead Cells.

I made an account specifically to address the severe lack of Fuga: Melodies of Steel on this list, as well as a review for the game as a whole.

A passion project for CyberConnect2 that doesn't get nearly the attention it deserves. Every character is a very likeable war orphan (both cats and dogs) that always have a chance of dying at any minute depending on how well you play the game.
