Re: Nintendo Life Weekly: Possibility of Pokémon amiibo Cards, Monster Hunter X (Cross)

If they made a 3ds game with about half of the pokemon in the game only available from amiibo cards and toys, so let's say when you scanned a card it would say "a new Pokemon has been released in the wild!" It would basically be the biggest money printing game Nintendo has ever put out. I'm fairly sure they are working on something similar right now. People might see this as mercenary at first, but it would be a mega hit, and as I don't care about Pokemon, but love the fact that it keeps the Nintendo Franchises I care about alive, I'm all for that.

I am pretty baffled by your rating system, you gave some ancient, stale Game Boy games that I couldn't even play for more than 5 seconds (Mega Man series for instance) 9/10 and you give this fantastic little puzzle game a 6?

This is easily an 8/10, if not more.

Best controller stick on a portable ever. I remember playing Bust A Move for hours on end with my friends. We would spend hours beating each other's high score. To this day, I still can't play that game on any other system (portable or otherwise) because the "clicky stick" gave you such precise aiming.

Re: Soapbox: Portable Gaming Forges a Special Relationship With the Player, and Nintendo is the Master in the Field

My first system of any kind was an original grey Game Boy, which I absolutely loved. I owned pretty much every portable Nintendo system, and I also own/owned a Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Color, PSP and a Vita. Nintendo portable systems were the only ones I had a true relationship with, for the reasons you cite. (the one exception is the Neo Geo Pocket, which was great and the joystick was probably the best on any portable system.)

These days, even though I enjoy the Vita and some of the games, I couldn't really care less if it died on me, whereas both my Zelda 3DS systems are more important to me than I care to admit.
