Maybe good news for people asking about Dementium...atooi just received the rights to it last month. So don't be surprised if they announce ports for it. I'm sure they will release them before Hatch Tales lol
But yeah, I'm with others in which I can't support atooi anymore. Jools burnt too many bridges.
Why am I not surprised another atooi game is releasing before Hatch Tales…
The way they have been handling that game is so bad. If they communicated on why games like Run Box Run and Pictooi are releasing before it I could maybe excuse it. It’s just a bad look and it feels like he threw his backers under the bus.
I just wish Jools could focus on one game at a time.
Not sure if I even want to support him now after seeing him do a video interview with an known hateful and racist person last week. Like how did he think it was a good idea to do a video with the BitBlock guy.
It's really interesting to see how much Atooi has fallen over the years. People used to be excited for their titles, but now it seems like they burnt too many bridges.
I feel like their problems comes to them working on too many titles at once. It feels like Jools can't focus on one thing at time and it drags them down. They showed off a 3D horror game that they are looking for funding for too a few weeks ago. So they have like 4-5 titles that may be currently being worked on. They need to re-focus and get Hatch Tales out before showing anything else off.
Sadly, Moon has really turned me off of buying their games. (Press Release misinformation, bad gameplay, and price) Hopefully Treasurenauts will turn me around on Renegade Kid. Though, it may not be possible if they keep overpricing their games.
Personally, Moon left a bad taste in my mouth after spending $8.99 on the first episode. It's one of the few times I felt ripped off with an eShop title. I didn't buy the rest of the episodes cause of it and tend to be avoid RK titles now.
@aaronmclaren I don't recall Nintendo saying much about exclusive games. (or that range of titles is going to be exclusive) The only one they seemed to talk about was Xenoblade. They did say other games will take advantage of the new features, but never said the games would only exclusive to the new model.
@Mommar They felt the need to charge a premium for a niche title and customers are voting with their wallets by saying it's too much. Again, no one is asking for them to jump to the bottom of the barrel and charge $5 or less. They're asking for a more reasonable price of $9.99 or $14.99. I really doubt a more reasonable price point would even hurt them.
Also the developer isn't making their living on a niche shooter. They have other cheaper games published on the Japanese eShop that most likely bring in more money than Steel Empire.
@ogo79 I'm sure those people were only complaining that Earthbound was 2 dollars more than the average SNES VC title. Whereas people here are complaining about Steel Empire costing the same amount as a retail title. I feel like there's a big difference between a niche shoot 'em up title costing $29.99, than a VC title costing $9.99.
Of course, compared to prices of other shoot 'em ups on the eShop and other platforms (Ikaruga, Kokuga, and etc), Steel Empire does come off as looking overpriced.

Little too late. Jools has burnt his bridges. People shouldn't support him.

Re: The November Club Nintendo Rewards Are Now Up For Grabs
@ikki5 How is it crappy?
Re: The November Club Nintendo Rewards Are Now Up For Grabs
@ikki5 Funny since it's based around a game that started out in 1998. :/
Re: The November Club Nintendo Rewards Are Now Up For Grabs
@ikki5 Odd, Tokyo Crash Mobs isn't a garbage game. As long as if you don't have a problem with a wacky version of Magnetica.

Re: New Nintendo 3DS Models Announced
@XyVoX I'm pretty sure the new 3DS XL screen size is the same, whereas the OG 3DS' screen is increasing in size.
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Models Announced
@Caryslan There was a few DSi exclusive retail games. Here's a list from Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_DSi#Software_library

And here's a lovely quote from the publisher of Kokuga (another 3DS shooter), "you are not able to make a living on just making shooters." (Full quote and article here: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/08/kokuga_publisher_believes_the_shoot_em_lup_genre_faces_a_very_difficult_crossroads_in_japan)
Re: Review: Steel Empire (3DS eShop)
@ecco6t9 So if the physical copy of the game is rare and expensive, it's okay/fair to charge a premium for digital remake of said game?
If so, Nintendo should be charging 50 dollars for Earthbound. (The game is going for 85+ on ebay)

Re: Steel Empire Blasting A Path To The North American 3DS eShop Next Week
I wonder if any thought went into the price, since it seems like Teyon took the Japanese price (2,940 yen) and converted it to $29.99.
