The wii has 1 year left in it's lifespan. If this doesn't release soon don't bother Nintendo. The wii has some fitness games this could work with but with 1 year left in the Wii. It might not be worth it.
Nintendo could have at least offered a 20GB HDD which the Project cafe. Which Microsoft and Sony did at the launch of their current consoles. Even if 20GB does cut it even in 2011. 8GB of flash memory is just 4GB more then the low end Xbox 360 S.
Nintendo could be shooting themselves in the foot at the start of the 8th Generation. The Project Cafe should have a Proper HDD in April 2012. 8GB flash memory is not going to cut it.
Nintendo was the first to have the D-pad (the cross key) way back in 1983. Which has been on Nintendo's Consoles and Handheld videogame players. so Project cafe/wi 2 or whatever Nintnedo's 6th console is called. Will have buttons and the cross key.
The Commadore 64 was the most successful "indie" home computer (hobbist programing/Gaming device) It was a gaming machine that wasn't a videogame console or a "proper" computer even in its early 1980's heyday. The commadore 64 was popular. It was histories only bridge between Home video games consoles and Playing videogames on PC. For a while this Computer/Gaming machine was a great success. 1982-1985 The C64 had a great run. Before Microsoft and Apple. This home computer did find a quite a bit of success. Filled the gaming gap during the 1983 crash until Nintendo dubuted the N.E.S
Excellent article on the SuperGrafix (PCE 2) That is a system I never owned. They might have done better to make it an actual 16 bit system.not just another upgraded 8-bit system.
Back in 1989 The Turbo-grafx 16 system was the first videogame system that I bought with my own money. I decided to give this system a chance. Even though it lasted only 4 years. I got to play some great games. Military Madness, Alien Crush, Legendary Axe, Blazing Lazers, Dungoen Explorer. Monster Lair, and Cyber core.
Nintendo was once know for how hard it's games were. In the days of the N.E.S and S.N.E.S a lot of the games were hard. So Super Smash Bros Melee. By being hard is in keeping with Nintendo tradition. besides that's why there are difficulty settings
I had recieved an NES for Christmas, And an Nintendo 64 for Christmas. Those were the only consoles that I recieved at Christmas. I've had all 5 Nintendo consoles. A Nintendo Console at Christmas is a great gift to recieve.
If I could find one of these I would buy one. I still have an SNES and 30 games for it. It would be good to have all of them one a single cart. Or better yet all 725 Super Nintendo games that were ever released. The Super Nintendo is my favorite Nintendo Console of all time. So if this would be sweet to have.
Nintendo Does keep it's preceeding generation consoles going for about a year after the next one comes along. DS games for another year after the 3DS comes out.
Virtual boy games? I guess if you could get them to work in 3D now without causing headaches. There were only 22 games so re-release them on one disc? or Memory stick/card whatever the 3DS will use.
I remember the original NES version. At the time I was really upset. That this version didn't follow the arcade original. The NES 1988 version has a "few brand new" exclusive to nintendo levels. But at the time it was a major crisis. Plus no "power up" or "original game" back in 1988. This was a big deal. One of the then hard to find titles on the NES. a classic from Taito
The first Castlevania way back in 1987. I put the cartridge in and when the sound of the first door opened! It was a "WoW" moment At the time this game was awesome. One of the classics that really made the most of the limited capabilities of the NES. Getting to Dracula was a chore but when you first got to take him on... Epic at the time.
Axelay is a great example that while the Super Nintendo wasn't known for it's library of "Shumps" as there weren't that many released during it's lifespan. Axelay showcased that the SNES could do the genre right. Axelay by Konami is a rare gem.
The Suckage Factor of Moto-Roader is beyond belief. The worst game on the TG-16. I owned the original which was the one other five player game available at TG-16's launch. Just avoid this at all costs. I still haven't recovered from this. Epic Suckage Nuff said...
A classic Stratagy Turn based game that was rare for home consoles at the time. If you remotely like the genre this is a must play. Military Madness is a fine example of how this genre can work well. One of the early gems.
Even though you get one life in Bloody Wolf. I managed to get to stage six. Or I had more patience for videogames back then. This is a surprising playable shooter. Nothing overly revolutionary even when this was in the Arcades. Yep this was in the arcade before the faithful arcade translation. The TG-16 was known for it very good near perfect ports of the Arcade versions. Bloody wolf was one of them.
China Warrior Sucked back in 1989 when it was released. So it just is not worth downloading in 2010. It sucked then and it doesn't even have any quailties that make it worth it now.
I hated street fighter 1 back in the day. I remember when it came out in the arcade in 1987. The controls were horrible. But when the CD add on debuted, When videogames on CD instead on cartridges was a huge unheard of development. Back in 1989 this "Fighting Street" a perfect port, horrid controls and all. Was in my collection. Even though I hated this game back then there was only 2 games on CD. This and Monster Lair. I'm glad the series got better as street fighter when on.
Bonk Adventure was a way too easy game. He never did make a great mascot as was hoped. This game just does hold up in the same was as other mascot games. Sonic and of course Mario. Bonk is not. But is worth a look for the sake of gaming history.
Vigilante was a standard example of a "Beat them up" of the 1980's Nothing to outstanding about this game. But back in 1989 this was a launch title. That was a very faithful translation of it's arcade counterpart. A big deal back in 1989.
Another example of the many near-perfect arcade Translations that The turbo Graphix 16 offered. Ninja Spirit was a challenging side-scolling game of the 1980's N.E.C managed to have a near-perfect port. The "Big" Hu Cards were the ones to buy when the TG-16 was an active console. Ninja Spirit was one of those games on the "Big' cards. (in 2010 the term "Big cards" is now lost. Ninja Spirit is still worth a playthrew even today.
A very hard side Scroller from 1987. R-type was a hard game. I was always impressed when someone was "good gas" at this game. An ancient term for some one who could make it past level 5. R-type is that kind of game if you could make it to the final boss.. You had skills. To see someone do that in the arcade was very rare.
Galaga 88. Even thought this was a brillant Arcade Translation. The title change to Galaga 90 bothered me more then it should have back then. Epic fun that is worth revisiting today.
This is one of the greatest arcade memories of my mis-spent youth. Greasy terrible pizza. And Wonder Boy 3. The Turbo CD version was a blast to play. Some of the most fun Boss Battles of the day. Pure arcade fun. I actually had the original CD version which at the time required an $700.00 CD add on. This and "Fighting Street" Street Fighter 1. Were the first home videogames on CD. back in 1989 that was a big deal. Perfect arcade translations on CD that you could play at home. Epic back in 1989. Now in 2010 people are "What are Arcades?" "What are CD's?"
Alien Crush manages to be one of times where the "videogame pinball concept" works. A feat that is difficult to do even now. In the 7th generation of consoles.
Back in the day this was one of my favorite games. For the TG-16 played it to death. I remember playing five characters at once. With the original system and all of the required extras. It was possible to play The Fighter, The princess, Warlock, Gnome, and Witch at the same time. This game was fun. Even thought it was a great OVER the top. Clone of Gauntlet. This was a must play back in 1989. For it's time it was a classic. Worth checking out even in 2010.
An Epic "Shoot them up" if your a fan of the genre. This game is a must play. I remember that weapon 4 was a pain to get fully powered up. Once you did this game was a Cakewalk (almost). Blazing lazers is great for it's arcade like gameplay of days gone by.
I remember playing Neutopia when it was released way back in. 1990 I finished it. I was disapointed that it was rather easy to complete. A pleasant enough game. But not goundbreaking in anyway. It is worth playing regardless if it is a shameless knock off of Zelda.
"Beating" an NES game such as Skyshark. A very hard shoot them up. The graphics were lesser than the arcade version. But Nintendo got the difficulty right. The game just "scrolls threw" from the last Boss back to the beginning stage. Your victory is to continue to rack up your high score. One point shy of 10 million if you can get it. The 8-bit N.E.S era had some of the hardest games to "complete"/finish ever. Blaster Master is another epic chore to finish. If you have played it you know exactly why...
Nintendo Consoles have always had the Useless extension/Expansion port. The Cartridge based consoles anyway. It became a tradition almost. I'm surprised that it took Nintendo that long to learn That Console Disk/Disc based add-ons are never a good idea. Even the first addition of the Gamecube had never used ext.port. That was later removed along with the HDMI port. Great article on Nintendo first foray into videogame console add-ons.
Twenty years of the greatest Nintendo console ever. In those 20 years I've bought 6 Snes systems. I always regret selling them and despite having moved on to more advanced videogaming systems from both Nintendo and other videogaming companies. I just had to get another SNES. So I'm on my sixth Super Nintendo. Even Birthday SuperFamicom/SNES.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo to Launch "Wii Select" Budget Range
A Wii console with Mario Kart Wii as the pack in game. $149.99 with 1 motionplus controler and the nunchuk and the plastic Wii Wheel.
Good for Nintendo to change things up. Since Wii Sports has been the pack in game since November 2006. So a new pack in for May 2011 is a good thing.
Re: Rumour: Wii Successor Won't Have a Traditional Hard Drive
Nintendo could have at least offered a 20GB HDD which the Project cafe. Which Microsoft and Sony did at the launch of their current consoles. Even if 20GB does cut it even in 2011. 8GB of flash memory is just 4GB more then the low end Xbox 360 S.

Re: Rumour: Wii 2 has Blu-ray Drive, Controller Contains a Screen
Here is hoping that Nintendo's Wii 2 does use Blu-Ray discs. If that ends up being true. I'll be buying Wii 2.
Re: Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
I have the PS1 original, Don't know If this game is worth the upgrade but if I see it I'll play it.
Re: You Won't Get a Nintendo Console with a Buttonless Controller

Re: Rumour: Nintendo May Cut Wii Price to $150 Next Month
I just bought a wii The black bundle with the wii Motion plus controller & nunchuk and the Two Pack-in games Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.
For $169.99 no tax. So that is $19.00 more than the $150.00 May 15th 2011 price drop console.
Since the wii has 1 year left before the March/April 2012 launch of the Project Cafe.
