Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 24th)

JohnnyMind

@Teksetter Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I'm getting the Fortnite My Hero Academia skins for my sister and since I bought Splatoon 3 during Black Friday for her boyfriend I'm giving it to him as his present...
The funny thing is that I know what they got for me for Christmas AND my birthday that's also pretty soon since I had to look up physical games that I wanted with good prices XD so I'll receive Story of Season (the first one), Story of Seasons Trio of Towns for the 3DS and/or Sushi Striker for the Switch!

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Ports Of 2022

JohnnyMind

Persona 5 Royal since it's the one I wanted the most (so much so that I started playing it as soon as I got my quite unfortunately late physical copy)...
But either have already got or will eventually buy most of the games mentioned in this list and in the comments because I definitely want to play them at some point, so many fantastic ports/multiplatform games on Switch this year!

Re: Talking Point: What's The Deal With The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Switch Release?

JohnnyMind

@zander_dale As far as I know no, but I still have to play these games myself so it would be nice to have further confirmation from someone who has played them.
Anyway, I'm so happy they're finally coming to Switch, I'll get them digitally and most likely on sale since I eventually want them all!
Sad for the people who wanted them physically, there's no reason for it to not be a regular retail release.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Prince Of Persia

JohnnyMind

Japan without a question and it's not even my bias speaking: same art as the European one (currently switched with the North American one, but you can immediately tell since it says PAL version), but on the full box instead of being cropped out.
The less we speak about the North American box art the better...

Tonight nothing since I'm meeting my friends to play D&D, or at most a couple of trades with them in Pokémon Scarlet/Violet.
Tomorrow I'll go back to my schedule, i.e. alternating each day between Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes, Scarlet and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope... but since my physical copy of Persona 5 Royal has finally arrived I'm playing that whenever I can before one of those, too!

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2022 - Our Most Played Games

JohnnyMind

According to the review page:
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes 84h
Pokémon Legends: Arceus 38h
Kirby and the Forgotten Land 25h
Also shoutout to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle 15h which I revisited to play the DK DLC, its sequel Sparks of Hope 12h, Pac-Man World Re-Pac 9h and Pokémon Scarlet 5h because I had and/or are still having a lot of fun with them!

Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite Switch Games Of The Year 2022

JohnnyMind

I've voted for the ones I've played enough:
-Chocobo GP 7 (rough especially at launch because of MTX and FOMO, but still a really fun kart racer under all of t);
-Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes 9 (the best Warriors Nintendo spin-offs, but there are a couple of things missing from Three Houses);
-Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope 9 (currently on the third world, great sequel of a surprisingly fantastic game, but certainly easier than the first one even if I don't mind it);
-Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 1 8 (the wave with the most boring tracks, but really fun despite that);
-Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 2 9 (better than the first wave for sure);
-Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 3 10 (the best wave so far);
-Mario Strikers: Battle League 8 (practically a much improved version of the original, but inferior to Charged);
-Pac-Man World Re-PAC 9 (a fantastic remake of a great if short and simple platformer);
-Pokémon Legends: Arceus 10 (a much needed breath of fresh air for Pokémon with so many quality of life features, plus a fun game in general);
-Pokémon Scarlet and Violet 8 (not too far into it, but same as Arceus, minus points for the rougher performance and some quality of life features missing);
-Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival 9 (simply love the series, but I'm conflicted about the subscription).

Re: Atlus Shares More Details On Persona 3 And Persona 4 For Switch

JohnnyMind

By the way, let's not forget that digital has its advantages, too: getting the game as soon as it's available (in fact I still haven't got my physical Persona 5 Royal copy because of an issue with my order), not having to switch (heh) cartridges, bigger discounts etc. and that's the reason why I'm happy when both options are available!

Re: Atlus Shares More Details On Persona 3 And Persona 4 For Switch

JohnnyMind

@TheSilverShroud There are various reasons why people prefer physical over digital, sometimes like you said to the point of not getting the game if it's the latter: game preservation, saving memory, letting family and friends borrow it...
Which is why I still get physical games myself, but if they aren't available or cost too much I don't mind going for digital since playing the games is what matters the most to me!

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Mario Kart: Super Circuit

JohnnyMind

I've been a lurker for a while, but I've finally signed up and this is my first comment!
Went for Japan since it shows more racers, they at least look like they're racing and are probably a reference to Super Mario Kart which is quite fitting for this game!
Although I wouldn't mind if North America/Europe won because I quite like the blue background.
