Re: Video: We're Not All That Impressed With Balan Wonderworld's Free Demo

Hmm - I have to say, I felt the same when I first played the demo - it's a very odd throwback to how these sorts of games were made in the early 2000's, recalling Billy Hatcher, Sonic Heroes and the on-foot sections of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. The Switch port is clearly vastly inferior too, but it's a dated game in its DNA. THAT SAID - if you like this sort of thing and can forgive its technical shortcomings, there is an engrossing little game in there. I played the four levels through to completion, revisiting each to find hidden statues and by the end had acclimatised to its languid pace, incoherent art style and dated mechanics. I'd recommend picking it up on more powerful hardware, but you might have fun with this, if you know exactly what you're in for...

I thought the animation was great and the voice acting was well above par, especially Richard Armitage who turned in a very natural performance as Belmont. The main characters were endearing and there were some genuine moments of levity that worked well to balance the dark tone. Loved it and I look forward to seeing more in the future.

Re: Nintendo's Official UK Store Opens Up Star Fox Zero Pre-Orders

@JAG2045 I had exactly the same experience - except it was in stock when I checked but only with a small (S) t-shirt; I'd only just received the email from Nintendo so assumed it was a system error. Very disappointed to check again and see that it was sold out. Their loss to be fair, I'll wait for reviews now and possibly give it a miss altogether, or at least till it's cheaper. Shame though - and I liked that t-shirt too!

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life's Favourite Legend of Zelda Games - 30th Anniversary Edition

Where is Skyward Sword, quite possibly the most accomplished entry in the series to date? To see The Wind Waker, with its unambitious ocean, repetitive islands, short dungeons and simple fetch quests at number one is the icing on the Hyrule cake. An accomplished art style does not make up for any of its shortcomings. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic game - but not the best in a truly legendary series. Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword are infinitely better in all regards.
