@Anti-Matter
Well you can get a discount on games when they leave the service to buy but that is just digital. So from that standpoint I guess you're right. But as I look back at all the plastic former console games that I still have and never played since, I think what does it matter? And for me a game or movie rental is where you get a day or two to play said entertainment. I don't view this the same in that regard.
@SwitchForce Is it though? I mean unless you live in a cave that you've somehow figured how to power your Nintendo console in. And live near a retailer where you can physically buy your games. Or own a car... No internet remember.
@Anti-Matter You realize that Game Pass doesn't prevent from still buying the games physically, right? With GP, I was able to avoid some games that I'm glad I didn't buy.
FYI this is a weird shift for me, because I was a GP basher for a while.
@AstroTheGamosian
But in this case, nobody's forcing you to stay subscribed to play one or more games. You can still buy those games individually outside the service, physical or digital. It's not like say Netflix where you're locked into their ecosystem and unable to buy individual movies to own. So not an apples to apples comparison really.
Nintendo is hopelessly lost in the 90's. They won't even make a current gen game free every now and then with NSO. So to even suggest they'd ever consider something like Game Pass or PS Plus is laughable.
They wanted a $50 price point come hell or high water. That's the reason for the Animal Crossing DLC. It was the closest thing they could think of to get it close to there although they're still far off.
@Gryffin There's too many people that go duh it's just money and if you can't afford it that's your problem. This is why corporations can get away with bending people over. No concept of value.
Nintendo couldn't help themselves. They see how much Sony and MS charge and say how can we come close to that price while providing as little justification as possible?
@HotGoomba
1. Tell that to the communities who figured out how to emulate N64 games a long time ago. For all we know, Nintendo could be using the same downloadable roms on Switch Online for the current offerings.
What's amazing and frankly embarrassing is that Nintendo thinks games approaching 30 years old are as valuable as current gen ones. Like we should all be so honored they are bestowing them upon us. Tone deaf doesn't even begin to describe this. The old guard there really needs to be dismantled.

For a higher fee to play 25 year old games. What a deal!

Winning what? Last I checked PS5 and XBX were still hot ticket items.

And playing physical games require you to have electricity. There's another added cost. Lol.

Re: Video: We Tried To Convince A PS5 Fanboy To Get The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack
@Joeynator3000
That would be because NSO isn't a physical object and thus has unlimited supply. But yet Nintendo still overprices it
Re: Video: We Tried To Convince A PS5 Fanboy To Get The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack
@Savino
What's the $4? For cloud saves you need to spend the $20 for the year.
Re: Video: We Tried To Convince A PS5 Fanboy To Get The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack
@Pickledthethird
Seriously. It's truly sad the way Nintendo fanboys let the big N keep bending them over and still asking for more.
Re: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Is The Next Free Trial For Nintendo Switch Online (North America)
Here's a crazy idea. Instead of a free trial how about you make it a free game with Switch Online?
Oh wait the game isn't 25 years old so Nintendo can't afford. Silly me.
Re: Switch Online Surpasses 32 Million Subs, Nintendo Says It Will Continue To "Improve And Expand" Expansion Pack Tier
@the4seer
Wait you actually believe Nintendo cares about your interests and not the $$$?
Re: Switch Online Surpasses 32 Million Subs, Nintendo Says It Will Continue To "Improve And Expand" Expansion Pack Tier
@Varkster
What you fail to understand is your decision only leads Nintendo to keep up their shameful practices. But as long as you get yours I guess.
Re: Switch Online Surpasses 32 Million Subs, Nintendo Says It Will Continue To "Improve And Expand" Expansion Pack Tier
@Faucet
For just the price of a cup of a coffee a month, you can adopt an Expansion Pack subscription.
Please, consider opening your hearts and wallets for the truly greedy.
Re: Nintendo Leaker Suggests Pricing Of Switch Online's Expansion Pack Could Be Tied To "Licensing Costs"
@MetalMan
Of course not. Like I said, Nintendo wanted an excuse to have a high priced subscription tier like the big boys despite the value not being there.
Re: Nintendo Leaker Suggests Pricing Of Switch Online's Expansion Pack Could Be Tied To "Licensing Costs"
NintendoLife going into damage control mode.

And why are they just including the price difference? In total it's over $4 a month.

Same out of touch leadership they've had for the past 30 years.

Pour it back in!
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass Price?
@fortius54
Oh the price will stay I'm calling it now. Nintendo stubbornly stood behind that failure that was Wii U and didn't budge.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass Price?
@SeaFishelle
Just wanting to point out how absolutely wrong you were. Research is your friend.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass Price?
@SeaFishelle
Umm competitor Sony you can often get a full year of Plus for $40. Which is cheaper than this. Try again genius.
Sony gives away 3 games a month. And Game Pass gives you access to hundreds. Get a clue.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed

Nintendo would never become the Netflix of games because of how little profit they can squeeze out of it.

$50 to play an occasional 25 year old game isn't bad?

PS is giving you three modern gen games a month. Is Nintendo gonna do that?
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed

Nintendo has had many lessons. Unfortunately they never learn anything from them.
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed
@Stocksy
Come Black Friday you will probably be able to nab a year of PS+ for $30, $35. Nintendo has never done anything like that.
Re: Switch Online Subscribers Can Now Play The Jackbox Party Pack 6 For Free (North America)
Here's another "for a limited time" game. Keep putting that NSO subscription money in your pocket Nintendo.
Re: Prison Architect Will Soon Be Free On Nintendo Switch Online For A Limited Time
As usual it would be too generous of Nintendo to give this game to NSO members completely free.
Surely they can't afford that.
Re: Don't Worry, Nintendo Isn't Abandoning Switch Online's SNES And NES Libraries
"New games"
Lol.
Re: Nintendo 64 And Sega Genesis Expansion Pack Announced For Switch Online, Launches This October

Maybe because they're asking for extra money to play 25 year old games?
Re: Nintendo 64 And Sega Genesis Expansion Pack Announced For Switch Online, Launches This October
I can't wait for Nintendo to release their next console so that I won't buy it.
Re: Nintendo 64 And Sega Genesis Expansion Pack Announced For Switch Online, Launches This October
You know what you could do Nintendo? Offer current gen games as part of a subscription service.
I'm honestly embarrassed for them at this point how out of touch they are.
Re: Two Point Hospital Will Be Free On Nintendo Switch Online Next Week
@VoidofLight
Did you honestly think Nintendo would give away a current gen game as a NSO perk? They can't afford that!
