@SLIGEACH_EIRE To be honest, this sonic game doesn't look as good as Mario Odyssey.. lower resolution and lower fps..I'll save the judgement on the gameplay for later.. so while Switch's limitation can be a factor here it's definitely not entirely down to 'gimped hardware'
No online with friend is a bummer... not that a problem for me as I'll mostly be using the Switch version for on-the-go play but this is definitely going to be a big problem for a lot of people
Hmm.. no NFC, no gyro and slightly worse rumbles.. and I assume (sorry if i'm wrong) worse battery life too..
A good controller is something you'll live with for years (to play games which are worth hundreds more)... so you are better off spending £20 ish more and get a pro controller...
The size of Chinese market is staggering, even more so in the gaming industry..
Quoting from Wikipedia:
In June 2017, the analysis company APP Annie reported that King of Glory was the number 1 mobile game (excluding Android games) in the world in terms of income generation, with first quarter revenue of the game reaching US $1.76 billion. A hero skin of Zhao Yun also had sold for $22 million in one day. At the time, Tencent reported 200 million registered users with 50 million daily active users.
$1.76 billion of IAP dominated revenue in a single quarter is insane, it's literally printing money for Tencent.
In comparison, Nintendo reported 489.1B JPY in revenue for the entire FY2017, that's $4.39B so just about $1.1 billion per quarter on average. And needless to say the differences in margin between IAP and hardware sales are enormous..
It'll be absolutely huge for Nintendo if they can land a healthy and successful relationship with Tencent, so 7% jump in the share price based on merely speculations is totally understandable
@Reignmaker @BlueKnight07 This is basically a league clone on mobile and Tencent owns both IPs to start with. The Chinese variant of this game is absolutely huge in China and arguably even bigger than League itself.
@Yorumi I was with you until your ludicrous claims that joycons are unusable.. this is probably one of my favorites controllers on any platform and I say that as I own both XBox Elite controller and switch pro controller along with a couple dualshocks..
I'm not a big fan of having to buy extra micro-sd card to expand the storage.. and I can see future switch models come with higher built-in storage..
I feel like Fifa and NBA 2K deserve their own section outside of indie games. They're probably going to be the biggest Switch games this year apart from Nintendo's own offering

Re: Nintendo Takes Down Super Mario 64 Online Videos And Creator's Patreon
@Ainz By copyrights law, Nintendo has no other choice but to do this even if they don't want to. You lose the IP if you don't act.

Re: Review: Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star (Switch)
@XenoShaun Great, thanks. That's good to hear, I may pick it up this weekend.
Re: Review: Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star (Switch)
How's the performance? is it at least stable at 30fps? don't want to go back to the nightmare that's DQ Heroes..
Re: Deals: Pre-order Super Mario Odyssey Today in the UK and Get a Cappy Hat
The price is fine to me.. but still waiting for a collector's edition..hopefully with soundtrack and amiibos
Re: Minecraft's Cross-Platform Update Is Coming To Nintendo Switch This August
@RedMageLanakyn it's reported that Sony has rejected the idea of supporting cross-play on PS4, so it's probably going to be a very long wait, if ever
If this is true, then Sony has turned the PS4 Minecraft to a trash.. no cross-platform, no dedicate server, no realm and no shared mod packs
