While it's always good to see more games and consoles being added to the Virtual console i'm not that excited about handheld ones. I can understand why it's being done and their will be a demand for it being that the Wii U has a handheld controller but it is'nt a handheld machine. With the Wii U being a more powerful machine u would expect more of a progression with the VC, u would expect access now to game libraries and consoles that the orginal Wii could'nt emulate.
With the Wii U VC and the Wii U overall Nintendo seem to be sticking more to games that were released on Nintendo consoles or were developed by Nintendo themselves which is fair enough being that Nintendo has a fantastic library of games but variety is the spice of life and it will be disappointing to find that certain games just won't get released because of that. Will any non nintendo consoles appear on the new VC?, it's been over a year u have to wonder. It would be a let down if that were the case but like that if VC Arcade was improved upon it would'nt be so bad.
A slightly better week for for the Wii U VC but overall it's starting to look like the new VC is actually inferior to the old VC. I don't see any Sega or SNK titles yet, the variety of consles and game developers is what was great about the old VC. I was the expecting more powerful consoles to be added to the new VC along with the old ones but u have question if this will happen at all. Things would not be so bad if they emulated more arcade games like a Final Fight Arcade or a Marvel vs Capcom 2. For example i love Street Fighter 2 on the SNES but i'd like to able to play Street Fighter Third Strike on the Dreamcast too, maybe this will happen down the road, i hope it will but i'm having doubts.
Theirs not too many new exciting cd games on the way but whats surprising is that the virtual console eshop is not realeasing much stuff either. From what i can see their are no Mega Drive or Neo Geo games available on the new virtual console, no arcade releases either. I thought i might be seeing some Marvel vs Capcom or SNK vs Capcom oreven a new console being added. The Wii U is a nice little console but they really need to start releasing stuff for it.
The Wii U virtual console needs to be improved , even the old Wii has a better catalogue of games, more systems and more publishers. The new Virtual Console just seems to be going over old ground which is fine being that it is retro but some upgrades need to be added. I was expecting a general improvement all round with the Virtual Arcade, Wii Ware and so on, i'd like to see games like Street Fighter Arcade, Final Fight Arcade and Marvel vs Capcom being released along with the SNES versions. Hopefully this will happen somewhere down the line.
Slightly puzzeld why more people would want to see N64 games on the Wii U Virtual console then Dreamcast. The Nintendo N64 was a decent system and being that it's already on Wii it's the more likely to be added but i think the addition of Dreamast and Gamecube games would be a step up and would bring more attention to the Wii U.
Thanks for ur comment Blizzaga but from what i've heard the Wii U pro controller can't be used on Wii games. I'l just have to find a Wii classic controller somewhere.
Off topic but as a matter of interest is the Wii Classic Pro Controller still available in the shops, many Wii games and virtual console games can't be played properly or at all without one. Their seems to be no real point in even transferring old virtual consoles games to the Wii U without the old classic wii controller.
The Wii Pro Classic controller is what i'm after, they seem to be scarce, are they still available in the shops?. A lot of virtual console games are redundant or can't be played properly without a controller, even with a Wii U transfer a Wii controller is still needed.
I love Street Fighter but i already have the Nintendo version of this, i'd get the arcade version if it became available, it's highly unlikely that it will though. The retro aspect of things is what i like about the Wii, i far prefer the old Street Fighters to the new ones the graphical style of the latest versions puts me off totally, hopefully the virtual console and arcade will continue to improve on the Wii U.
Whats next Animal Crossing HD, their is a demand for these type of games but hopfully the Wii U won't be quite as flooded with them as the Wii was. Games with a bit more of an edge are needed for the launch. I'm actually more intrested in seeing how they improve the virtual console, the virtual arcade etc.
Great news, i have good memories of playing this game years ago, 2 player was fun as were the moves. Good to hear that it's coming to the virtual console.
Fantastic intro but the actual game visuals and gameplay look disappointing, looks like a mindless button basher of a game. It's another case of they don't make em like they used too, i think this game is rated 16 just to make it seem slightly edgy. What's wrong with just going back to basics and making some good 2D titles.
Their is too many games of this type being released , i'm looking at some of the latest titles , We Sing, Animal Crossing, Paint Splash and on it goes theirs very little their for the mature gamer, very little their for someone who's looking for a game with a bit of an edge to it. Hopefully Nintendo will change things up a bit with the release of the Wii U.
Am i the only one out there that does'nt like the visuals of the latest Street Fighter games, i'm not even a fan of the way it plays. Give me the old school anyday over this new stuff, i much prefer the road SNK went with the look of there games, the latest Street Fighters just look like Tekken they don't have the Capcom look.
Very true Madgear, most people don't have the storage space, it's not just the consoles and the discs but all the wires and plugs that go with them, it just gets messy in the end.
Will the Wii U be able to download old gamecube games or even dreamcast games, it will be intresting to see what it can do. Downloadable games and content is seriously important now, Nintendo needs to be able to match Sony and Microsoft in that department.
Hopefully the Wii U is slightly more powerful then both Xbox and Sony i think it needs to be, it's not hugely important issue but as a new machine in a new decade it should it have a bit of an edge over the older competition.
It will be Intresting to see how the Wii U virtual console will compare to PSN and Xbox, Sony made some of their downloadable titles unplayable offline hopefully that won't happen with Nintendo.
Game discs become even more redundant then the consoles that play them, i prefer to download it's a far better way to store stuff and as a retro fan i'm lucky in that sense being that a lot of what i like is there for download.
I don't like scrapping old systems it seems like such a waste but like that theirs only so much stuff u can keep. I've let a few consoles go over the years only to find that games i had on them never became available again, SNK vs Capom being one, Street Fighter 3 being another, although that is being released at long last for download. Hopefully the Wii U will have a good virtual arcade i like the download format.

What's going on theirs virtually nothing to download for the Wii U, Castlevania's a decent game but more titles really need to be made available.
