I decided a few years back to get both a jungle green and ice blue console and mixed and matched parts to create blue/green variants which I then had HDMI modded. If you can get the mod and love N64, do it!
@Cosats Nintendo has already said it isn't making anymore mini-consoles. Besides, an N64-Mini would fail to live up to expectations due to licensing. Aside from Rare's catalog most likely not being available (outside Donkey Kong 64 and Diddy Kong Racing) (and GoldenEye being in licensing hell), there's a lot of third party titles that wouldn't be available.
