@Ralizah thanks for the update! 😊 Nice to know they're going to correct it. Looks like I'll get to relive some early 90's gaming nostalgia FPS goodness on my Switch after all. Just got to wait a bit...
I bought this yesterday BEFORE realizing I needed to create an account with Bethesda just to play the game I had just paid for and has no online components to gameplay. After some quick online research, I just decided to delete the game and cut my losses. So, I was tricked out of a few bucks - nice one, Bethesda! But lost money to headache ratio for me is just easier to avoid Bethesda bs and not have a headache.
If they remove this idiotic restriction later on, maybe I'll re-download the game. But I'm already in the "I don't care" camp on this. My interest was in just reliving some gaming nostalgia on my Switch. I probably wouldn't have spent much time with the game had I actually been able to play it.
Silver lining - I'll spent 30 seconds looking up whether or not I'll need to jump though hoops-of-bs like this before buying my next Switch game. I'm talking games that have no online components to them or genuine reason to require an account.
I've been a big Ghostbusters fan since the movie hit the scene in '84! I was excited when the game came to the Wii, but got bored with it rather quickly. It was very repetitious... pretty much the same deal, every ghost - find it, proton-beam it, smack it against the walls a few times, trap it, wash, rinse, repeat. Maybe there's more to it and I just quit too early? I like the visuals better in the remastered version (based on screens in article), but I'm guessing the game play would be the same as on the Wii. I suppose it's still more fun than collecting spores, mold, and fungus, though. Haha 😄
Contra (NES) is one of those games I spent many hours in back in the day, and still holds entertainment appeal for me today. I still have my NES and Contra cart in a box in the basement, but having it available quick and easy on my Switch would be a welcome addition! I'll end up buying this one just for NES Contra and probably be more than pleased with the purchase for that game alone. It's one of those titles I can just pick up and play every so often and have a blast. The fact that it also has arcade Contra and the others is icing on the cart!
I was really looking forward to playing RE4 on my Switch. Preordered it months ago.
Discovered there is no motion control aiming this morning. Have zero interest in playing it now. The better aiming on the Wii version is the main reason it got so many play throughs on that platform. It really made the experience so much better than the GC version, which I only played through a few times.
Wish I knew it lacked motion control aiming before I preordered. Could have saved some $$ and forgone the major letdown. Hopeful they'll update it, but ain't holding my breath.
On the bright side, at least I'll have more time for other things! Life is busy and gaming time limited!
