@Jacob - Regarding the pointer being your 'sole option' you can also hold the Wii Remote horizontally and use the D-Pad and 2 Button to highlight and select words as well. This was added as people did comment that the aiming with Wii Remote can be delicate. With the original release going to the Top 10 for many weeks we're happy to provide this update for the casual Wii user.
Hey Zach, you mention that "when we ported the original to DSiWare, it allowed you to choose between Easy and Hard and thus increase the window in which you're allowed to react, but this option is confusingly absent here."
We always attempt to create an authentic arcade experience. As the original DL2 arcade game did not have an Easy/Hard option the DSiWare doesn't either. Thanks for the review.
@sillygostly - We plan on keeping the servers around for as long as people keep making music! We would have loved to simply allow the tracks to be placed on an SD card, but Nintendo is very tight as to what it allows on the SD card.
@Omega - Just for being the first to post, we'll gift you a copy when it releases. Merry Xmas! Send us an email to info@digitalleisure.com and we'll exchange some Wii numbers.
@WolfRamHeart - Yup, the game will have 10 additional military style copters that you will be able to purchase through the game’s DLC menu. Each of these helicopters have unique features such as extra hull plating or the ability to do loops allowing you to double back on missed landing zones. The copters will be available at the launch of the game and will cost 100 Nintendo Points each.
@JayArr - My vote is for Copter Crisis.... @Alfred ENG - No demo on this one...but you can probably risk the lunch money... Thanks for all the love as always everyone!
@lanafire7 - The Mad Dog McCree Gunslinger Pack are of course ports of the original arcade games, and as is the objective of any arcade game, they want you to put more money in the machine! The original creators placed these types of 'money making' shots into the game like the chimney or hidden guys in windows. Basically shots that would guarantee a loss of life the first time around. Many of the original gamers remember these types of moves so they were naturally left in the Wii versions. Yes, most people will die, just as they would have in the arcade, except this time you don't have to feed another dollar into the machine! There is certainly skill involved in trying to win against the gunfighters in Fast Draw Showdown, and we believe the overall audience will have a fun time playing.
@Tony - Yes, the opening drawbridge can be found in the "Home Mode" as it was technically not included in the original arcade release. The game will be releasing worldwide. USK was first to post the rating to their site.
@SmaMan - You can use either the A or B button for the Sword, they'll both work.
@letsplay - We'd love to make it available for WiiWare, but due to the size limits it won't be possible.
Hi Everyone! Here are some quick answers to your questions.
1) Can the DSi handle this? Of course! The game plays great! 2) Is this a game, can it actually be played? Yes, this is the original Dragon's Lair from the arcades, and it's fully playable! Every original scene is included! 3) Will it be like the NES version? Absolutely not!! I assure you, the first scene is passable! 4) Why not on a console? All we said is that is it coming to DSiWare...no one ever confirmed or denied a console release! 5) Can this even fit on DSiWare!? Yes, it most certainly can, and no, it won't take up the entire system memory.
We'll be posting screenshots, video and a whole lot more over the coming weeks until release.
@lanafire7 - You would think that, but the unit still has to read the action, talk to the disc and play the video, and in that time there are slight delays. As a WiiWare title is locally stored, there is no delay on death playback. If you're an FMV fan you'll enjoy FD.
@lanafire7 Yes, this is the classic 90s arcade shooter Fast Draw Showdown! The game will also have a multiplayer mode among other new features. We'll be forwarding all the details to the NintendoLife staff very soon. Regarding the Mad Dog pack, there really aren't any issues with calibration or hit detection. However, as it is an FMV game, there are slight delays between movie clips as the video jumps, and this can sometimes cause confusion. You just need to be fast off the draw to make that shot!

Re: Texas Hold'em Tournament
@ValLuvsher Wiii -- Unfortunately, Texas Hold'em Tournament does not utilize the WiiSpeak tools. Glad to hear you're enjoying playing!
Re: Copter Crisis
@LGamer -- Copter Crisis will have additional copters you can download using WiiPoints. So yes WindOnFire is correct -- DLC copters!
