Re: Nintendo Announces Indie World Showcase For Today, April 19th 2023

Definitely-Not-Leon

Give us a break Nintendo...my backlog and wishlist are already packed with wonderful games, so please nothing for me... Or maybe show us more about some games I am on the fence about due to showing me short (cinematic) trailers and end up not my being my cup of tea...that is the quickest way for me to reduce my (potential) backlog, haha.

Though I am wondering what is going on with these games that have been announced quite a while ago:

  • Airhead
  • Crowsworn
  • Gestalt Steam & Cinder
  • Girl Genius - Adventures In Castle Heterodyne
  • Inkulinati the Dragon
  • Moon Samurai
  • Nairi: Rising Tide
  • Oddventure
  • Sacrifire
  • Scarlet Deer Inn
  • Scarlet Republics
  • Shujinkou (learning Japanese)
  • There is no Light
  • Threads of Time

Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Ganondorf?

@Giancarlothomaz Interesting idea . With what Nintendo has showed us, I think anything can happen, haha. It would be nice if Ganondorf changes his weapons during the battles depending on your own weapon-creations and the things that are at hand in the immediate environment .

Re: Kloa: Child Of The Forest Is A Beautiful Blend Of Pixel Art, Studio Ghibli, And Zelda

@jojobar Even though I can't describe it myself, I get what you are trying to say. Some parts do look good (like with the sort of genie/wisps fountain), but especially the Lava-segment seems a bit off...ish? Really love the music though, simple piano-tones always work with me, haha:).

@Cashews Yay, does that mean I am also (be it from one of the first six movies) Ghibli-inspired...haha . On topic, art-wise there is not much Ghibli going on here, but maybe they are only refering to the Shinto-like spirits (and with that of course everything nature)?

@wiiware Yupyup, definitely mainly Hyper Light Drifter, but if you look at smaller elements (such as the music notes in the opening, the falling rocks that probably refer to Death Mountain, the clearly Zelda-inspired bomb and bow and the enemies and their attack patterns) then there is also a lot Zelda-ish stuff going on here and there).

Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of The Super Mario Bros. Movie Are In

Definitely-Not-Leon

@Ryu_Niiyama I must say that the 4 year old me was completely caught off guard by Super Mario Bros' strong plot(twist). No other book, movie or game has ever fooled me seven/eight times (or was it even more, I can't remember if the sub-castles also had a toad at the end...) in a row with the same trick, that is, "the princess is in another castle" (which is a superb way to build up excitement of course, haha, or was it anticlimatic...hèh, can't remember either) and then eventually doing the unexpected with Peach being there in the end, poooofff, magica:)l. Just kidding of course (regarding the plot(twist), we all know it was magical:)).

On a more serious note: I guess this movie is mostly aimed at (positively) reeling in younger-to-be-gamers, whilst their parents seeing the young ones enjoy themselves while taking a trip down memory lane themselves. Not sure if I will watch it, but I hope that those who do will enjoy themselves a lot:).
