Re: Starlink: Battle For Atlas' Huge Crimson Moon Update Is Now Live

DeeAech

@StevenG yeah, I was so excited to get the new Crimson Moon update. So I stayed up late downloading it to play it the next day. I've been in the thick of it, enjoying the new free content, until I went to go switch ships in the menu and noticed that there were bunch of new ships in there that were locked, and I did a huge double-take. I then decided to go see if there were new guns, and sure enough, a ton of new guns were in there, then on to the pilots, same story, and wings, of course to go with the ships. I had no idea that they were also releasing all-new paid dlc content to go along with this Crimson Moon update until I saw all that in there. Before all of this, I had actually paid $50 to unlock all of the paid dlc content, because I ended up deciding it was worth it. even though normally I despise locking important game content behind a paywall. Now, overnight I go from having all the content unlocked to only having half of it...
I don't think I'll be forking over another $50 to get the Collection 2 Pack. I love the game, and am really enjoying all of this new free content that came in the Crimson Moon update, but this is getting ridiculous even for Ubisoft. Now if you want the whole game, with everything unlocked in its entirety, it will cost you just shy of $200. That's crazy. I would rather Ubisoft just charge a little more for the whole game for everybody than to charge a hefty price for a core game, then charge RIDICULOUS prices to unlock the rest of the content.

Re: Dead Cells Is Coming to the Switch Later This Year

@Dualmask have you not played Dead Cells at all yet? Because it actually does have a permadeath system very similar to Rogue Legscy, in the sense that every time you die, you revive with the "cells", or power-up currency in the game, and there is a skill tree that is similar to your "castle" base in RL where you spend those "cells" on skills that are permanently unlocked and help you survive much longer on each consecutive run, making you more capable and giving you just a bit more fighting chance each time you start over. Trust me, you will thoroughly enjoy this one!

@Reignmaker couldn't agree more. If I hear of a game coming out now, my first question is always "is it coming to the Switch?", because that is my primary system I like to play on now. My PS4, pc, and Xbox360 are now my secondary systems, and I only get a game for one of them if I know for sure it will never make it over to the Switch.

Re: Manticore: Galaxy On Fire Will Swoop Onto Switch On 22nd March

@Defeated_Hero thanks, you actually answered all the questions I had about the game that no one else in this comment thread, or the article for that matter, could seem to answer. My main question being how you guys were planning on taking a completely freemium modeled game and port it over to a system as a full premium game with no micro transactions. Your comment answered that and a lot more as well, though. I honestly wasn't that keen on the freemium model for the mobile version of Manticore, but if you guys have truly reworked it the way you stated, then I will have to seriously consider picking this one up this time around on the Switch. I'll wait and see how the reviews go probably, but as long as they go well, then I'll have to try it out!

Re: Your Joy-Con Can Now Have a D-Pad if You’re Brave Enough

DeeAech

@Krisi I agree, my joy cons controller setup is fine with me. To me, it's a non-issue. I think it would make a good market for those that want them though, so it makes sense for Nintendo or some aftermarket company to make joy cons with d-pads instead of the buttons for the people that would like it. I just personally haven't ran into any problems using the buttons on my left joy cons for any games.
