Re: Talking Point: Should Link Have Voice Acting In The Next Zelda Game?

I think the only reason why a silent protagonist doesn't have a voice in the first place is because it's from "The Players Point of view".
In doing so, it's not to deprive the player from stepping, imagining or visualizing the protagonists' shoes. "You're the hero" , the player is the voice of this protagonist. Its not like they recorded the players voice personally, If I'm making any sense...
The decisions, that determines and molds the outcome of story that you're creating for this silent hero.

I'm surprised nobody has never bickered that Link has a name in the first place. Most silent protagonists usually only have a surname like "McDohl" from the original Suikoden
The nameless heroes like Dragon Quest, or Diablos Nephalims where you name the protagonist BUT they still had a voice. Even the Breath of Fire games....W-wait, let me correct myself, I believe that the Breath of Fire games the hero has always been known as Ryu I think? It's been years.
Oh and by the way Samus should have BEEN In full conversational or vocal dialog by now. And wasn't it once upon a time ago a big deal? I even remember people's reactions September 30th 1996 at Toys R Us. The Nintendo 64 demos when Mario was given a voice finally? Samus and Mario should have never been silent characters.

Again I hope I made some sense of what I was trying to explain and thank you for reading my long rant.

I think the problem with a lot of people here and I'm definitely an Old gamer myself don't get me wrong. Is that they're afraid or fear change. Its time to grow, evolve and, move on to new ideas and visions. Voiceless antagonists heroes are a thing of early gaming when these characters were first introduced. When voices or the sex of the character didnt matter.
Take some risks this is 2023! Change things up a bit and, Have the ones that want to be stuck in the traditional ways, get angry so what? There's always negative critism wherever you go that's reality.
It's time for Nintendo to grow up with some of us and some of us are getting old. It has been to traditional and safe for far to long. You know, playing it safe doesn't always work so I welcome change! Plus, I like to see the pettiness of keyboard warriors and, streamist whining and, crying as if their entitled to their way the game should be developed and created. You know they will play it all the same. Are they the ones that worked on the game itself, Is it their vision...? Exactly
