I like this game...but I just bought Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol. 1 for PS2 for like $10, so i dont really need to DL it. Now these Real Bout Games...hmm
(To Nintendo): "Now you're really beginning to p*ss me off!"
I'm basically out of space on my HD, and now i have to do the whole move to sd card cycle that takes up much time. I love my Wii, but this is really not making me happy. There have been WiiWare games that I've wanted to DL, but dont have the space to spare. So, if i dont have the space, then how am I going to want to DL new games? Come on Nintendo, use some logic here. If we don't have the space to play games, we're not going to DL them. Furthermore, we dont want to go through having to delete them and re-download them.
@Objection_Blaster If you have a PS2, you can actually pick up a copy of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. Its a very good game, and it also have both Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake...the MSX versions of course. If we don't get MSX in America (which seems to be the vibe I've been getting) then at least half of the problem would be solved (IDK about Ys though unfortunately).
BTW It only comes with the 2 disk subsistence pack, not the recent re-release that comes with MGS1 and MGS2.
@Mike Do you think that Wii will have player's choice games? Cause im patiently waiting for a price drop in both Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime 3.
sigh I was actually looking forward to downloading a shumup (i think thats the correct term) on WiiWare today...but I dont think I'll get the new title. Star Soldier R doesn't look that good. I mean you only get to play it for like 2 or 5 minutes. I mean i undestand the concept of competing for High Score, but its just not for me.
Lately I HAVE been disappointed with the amount of VC titles being released (Save Pokemon Puzzle League...fun game). I guess it also bothers me that they've rated specific games (Shining Force II and Mario RPG come to mind) and have yet to release them. There are tons of games that Im sure Nintendo has access to, yet they just release some poor titles.
Yes, I'll admit that I'm one of the many that is patiently waiting for EarthBound...the reason I'm so mad about it is that in interviews and whatnot, they've been saying that EarthBound was going to be released "Soon". Ever since getting my Wii, it was one of the titles I've wanted badly to come to VC, and when they said "Soon" i really thought soon. Now almost a year later, we still dont have it. What gives Nintendo?!
I just hope that Nintendo stops teasing us with the one a week stuff and starts putting out some good games. And, idk, Sky Kid may be a good game and I may just be over exaggerating, plus there is WiiWare now (with some cool looking games down the pipe), but like many others, VC is one of the reasons I got a Wii over the other consoles. I just hope Nintendo starts giving us some Gems rather than some duds.
End rant.
Edit: I didn't realize how long that was. Sorry...
Ok, so everyone says that Nintendo doesn't listen to their fans...but my question is, what else have the messed up with in the past. I know the whole EarthBound thing is just one of the things (come on, petitions, an anthology, phone calls) that they ignore us on, but what else does nintendo not like to do for us?
I think theres a possible tie in to the other Phantasy Star games.
Spoiler Warning
In one of the four endings, you go through a black hole and end up near earth. It doesn't show what happens at the end of this ending (other than , but in the ending of Phantasy Star II, we know that the people who created Mother Brain were from Earth. I think the layout of the final level of PSII (Noah) is similar to the ship Alisa III. So, its possible that during the end of Phantasy Star III (the ending that I was talking about), they were transported to a future Earth which was dying (like it said in the end of PSII) and the earthlings took over that ship which was sent through the future and traveled to Algo and caused the destruction of Palma and everything else thats been going on.
This is of course a speculation. I don't know if any of the endings of PSIII are canon or not, but i think thats a small possibility of how things happened.
I think the reviewer might have gotten the game history mixed up a bit.
This actually was the third game in the main Shinobi series. The first one was titled simply as Shinobi. It was on Arcade and SMS. Revenge of Shinobi was the second in the series. Shadow Dancer was more of a side story (it deals with a different organization called union lizard and not Zeed/Neo Zeed). So, Shinobi III is indeed Shinobi III (or it could be considered Shinobi IV)
Yeah...im kinda disappointed that EB isn't up there...and what about Secret of Mana? I know, im probably just as bad as every other EarthBound fanboy out there, but I really think its a great game.
Zillions is my pick for title that I want on VC. I would say Phantasy Star, but I already have it on GBA.
What other gems are there on MS...how bout Shinobi, the MS one, and both the GG versions. I also wouldnt mind seeing the Alex Kidd games either. They were pretty cool. Can't wait to see the possibilities.
Mario: Uh last time I checked Luigi, there are note Turtle Shells. Where are the turtles? Luigi: Trust me on this, they work much better than turtle shells. You just worry about growing your mustache back, let me worry about the shells. Mario: WHERE ARE THE TURTLES?!?!
I really like this game. The first RPG I've ever played. I love the storyline, and the Sci-Fi setting. Its VERY hard, but rewarding imo. Still, PSIV is MUCH better.
I love this game, but I know one thing, its HARD! IDK how well the Classic Controller can help with the hard to perform moves.

There were alot of differences between the Genesis and Sega CD version. First off, there was an AWESOME soundtrack to it. It was all redbook audio I believe.
There were also a few more fighters (including secret ones). I think the fighting mechanics were balanced out more too. For example, the inner strength circle thing didn't go down as fast, so you could perform more special moves.
Some characters had different stages too (Midknight and Jetta come to mind). There were three more types of overkills. Besides the normal stage ones, each character had their own fatality type move. And, there was also a thing called a cinekill where the game would switch over to a movie of the character dying in a very gruesome way. And then there was another stage death where the winning character would be transported off of the screen, and then the losing character would die in another way. I think these were called instant deaths.
As far as I remember those are all the differences I can remember. Hopefully it wasn't too confusing for you.
So, this game is decent. I have it for Sega Genesis Collection. I never understood why they never ported Golden Axe: The Return of Death Adder, cause I personally thought that game was VERY solid....oh well.

Im not too disappointed honestly...though I did want EB. Metal Slug is pretty cool too.

Re: King of the Monsters
I didn't know the arcade version had 2 more characters than the SNES version. Interesting. This game is pretty weird, but not bad.
Re: Pokemon Puzzle League
I like this game. The scary part is, I recognize all the songs in the game. They're catchy and I actually know the words...wow. I feel old now.
Good game though. Kinda wish there were an online version of this game on WiiWare...hmmm
Re: Samurai Shodown II
Good game, but terrible translation. Hilarious though!

Re: US VC Releases - 28th April - Double Dragon
Id be up for the Genesis version or the Master System version...
Re: Top 20 'popular titles' on the Virtual Console - April 2008 (USA)
Wow, no Sega or Turbo games.

Re: Will Sega CD Support Ever Come To The Virtual Console?
I'd just want it for Lunar 1 and 2, Sonic CD, and maybe some other games. We can hope...

Re: US VC Releases - 28th January - 1080 Snowboarding
I might as well spend my saved points on some old game rather than wait for Nintendo to release something good. Oh well....is it March 9th yet?

Re: The King of Fighters '94
I bought this game on monday...I like it...its pretty tough too...and you only get four credits....

Re: Shining Force II: Ancient Sealing
This game Rocks! I can't wait for it to come to VC. I should complete SF 1 first though...
Re: Space Harrier II
I like this game honestly. I mean its not as good as the original, but its still fun.
