This is, personally, quite straightforward to me.

A football/soccer (if you are American) athlete wins the world cup. A decade later he is stripped of his title because it comes out that he was using steroids at the time. In the meantime, his son, now a competitor in the olympics in football/soccer, manages to win gold. While it is fair to strip the father of his title, is it fair to strip the son of his, NOT because he used steroids but because his family line did? If you think that Aegislash should be punished for this, you also think an athlete should be punished for the actions not of his career, but his father's too. That is not the world (most of us) live in.
