So much Sony bashing, we never bash Microsoft enough around here, it would make an nice change. Then again, Microsoft never seems to comment on their rivals; probably too busy counting how much money they're getting off RROD victims.
A future like that would sadden me as well, especially since every game would most likely be a COD clone, instead of intelligent, well made, FPS's like Half Life, Team Fortress, even Battlefield.
I really hope Battlefield 3 destroys MW3 this November and knocks COD off it's badly made, immature and repetitive perch, thus ending this COD fad.

On a side note, a few of your arguments fall flat with me, did you even stick around long enough to get all the patches? Online is pretty balanced now, except for the stealth perk and the SMAW, but HVS is working to fix that. "Can't kill anything!" I've been killed with every weapon in the game!
" Core gamers" ? All the "Core gamers" want these days are the next COD, I really hope the Wii U won't become over-saturated with FPS's just to please "Core gamers". sigh
This isn't a suprise for me either, I heard about the ' Zelda isn't a princess in this game' thing on Good Game. Bet she'll become royalty by the end of the game though.
Announcing it to the public isn't the best way to get new members I don't think, but then again, devs might flock to it and get it done alot sooner than expected, but thats unlikedly.
