What funny is how some of these games WERE remade and look sort of like how this gallery looks like. (DKCR for example, and the link in the Zelda painting). So, it could work.
The money in my wallet is burning just thinking about it. Make it happen Nintendo.
@Kirazy that's genius. Pure Genius. Other M with a permanent 1st person on the controller and 3rd Person on the TV is pure gold. Would have to work out how to work out the whole 2Dvs3D thing, but the concept could work really well either way.
Seriously. I'm going to mention this whenever I talk about the Metroid franchise.
For 3DS, give me a spiritual sequel to Super Metroid. Strictly 2D game play in a fully rendered 3D world (Think a 3D DKCR for the 3DS, with true 3D effects). Done. No game play uses for 3D necessary in this franchise.
Mario should take advantage of the 3DS' 3D in a game play way, Metroid in a purely aesthetics.
Yeah, waaaay too expensive. But complete hotness. I got the itch, but I just can't bring myself to blow that much on a statue. I probably would have a real dilemma if it was <$100, even though that's still some stack for something that really has no purpose.
Forget TP, to put it in better perspective, that's a Nintendo 3DS right there and maybe a game or two.
What would it take to blow my mind? Can't think of anything. Just don't want to be disappointed with stupid oversights. (Make sure you come out with a good transferring system, Nintendo.)
Games blow my mind, not consoles. Come out with Metroid Other: M 2 as a launch title, and consider my mind BLOWN.
@Bones00, I prefer pre-ordering from Walmart as you get the $20 back, they don't expire like the Amazon does, and you can use it for anything if you don't want to wait for another game.
And the past 3 pre-orders have been on my door at the release date for the $2 2-day shipping. (as long as it fell on a weekday, of course)
Funny my lady already made a point that when we go to the movies we easily drop 30 bucks or so, so from her point of view as a spectator this game's a steal since she's entertained by it and I'm having fun playing it. Thank you Nintendo, I owe you a drink.
Oh by the way, even at its worse, the narrative is never far from what you'd expect from a sci-fi flick. It's not "Academy Awards" stuff, but it feels like a well made movie (Specially after the game really starts "playing"). My lady is absolutely stunned just by watching me play, and she has given me green light to play as much as I want. (Coincidentally, I'm writing this while she asked that I pause while she's cooking)
Really, everyone, I'm going to spread this everywhere. Wow.
FYI, the game had to do a system update before you could even "click" on it on the menu.
Guys, just played for a few hours, and I have to say... I'm impressed. The controls felt absolutely PERFECT after about 20 minutes. Gameplay is tough, but rewarding. You have to actually consider how you are going to attack, as 3rd and 1st person each have positive and negatives (1st person you have more power with the missiles, 3rd you have more mobility when dealing with multiple enemies)
The narrative (particularly from Samus) was "meh" for the beginning, but after you start actually "playing" the narrative fit in just wonderfully.
If you are on the fence, you can safely jump. Seriously. I feel just as strongly about this game as I feel about Little King's Story and SMG2. Yeah, it's that impressive.
Having the motion controls only opens up design possibilities. You can design games WITHOUT 3D, but with great motion controls, and vice-versa. And I'm betting the motion tech wasn't but a few bucks to implement in there.
@NotEnoughGolds So far, I haven't seem anything from the Videos, gameplay, or otherwise to suggest this won't be playable while laying down on a couch. As long as they don't do this with strength response they can make this as long a game as usual. (Red Steel 2, at just under 10 hours, was perfect in length and left my arm tired. But that's because of the strength response. You had to hit some enimies harder and at a certain angle to injure them. This requires more.)
@200 May still get it. That commercial teases a possibility for all major franchises for the 3DS. Good thing Nintendo is looking at this is a true next gen system, which means we will get all the hotness.
@198 yes, that WiiParty could be a sleeper. Using the wimote like that, and using its speakers is something Nintendo should have done ages ago. I can see me and friends playing with this after a poker night or something for sure. Or like on a date night.
@198 Too many awesome titles. I figure Nintendo is thinking: "If we can't have this game out by the next E3, why announce it?" It makes sense, too. Why take out the thunder from other games that should come out within the next 12 months when your lineup and conference is already packed?
Gotta say, that Icarus game coming out for the DS instead of the Wii took me by surprised. DK and Kirby looked better than even the best I could have imagined. (That "sundown" stage looked incredible.)
What an amazing presentation. Was there something we can nickpick on? Anything? Even the Just Dance 2 only got 30 seconds of time. Otherwise, that was all perfect.
This, IMO, is the best looking Wii game so far. It's not even close. (SMG is beautiful, Okami too, but it's a cartoon-ish artistic look. This, being a more realistic look, is much harder to pull off). You all notice the rain drops on the visor....
I was going to wait on the reviews for this, just in case they were unexpectedly horrible, but this sold it for me. I'm pre-ordering it. Just started playing Super Metroid again and when you compare the two, this really does feel like the next evolution from Super Metroid. This game is to Super Metroid, as Ocarina of Time was to A Link to the Past.
Photo Dojo, if the fighting mechanics work well, will be one of the biggest hits of the year. It's potentially one of the funniest games you could play.
That play control scheme is what excites me the most! This seriously sounds like it's going to be like the old Metroids. The play scheme reminds me a bit of Super Paper Mario, where you hold it sideways then point at the screen as needed. If they can can make it seamless, it's going to fit in nice!
These games coming out over the summer doesn't necessarily mean a big release Christmas time. It could be a casual gamer focused game coming out later in the year, something that is a big seller. SMBW is a great game, but also one that mom-and-pops would pick up. I think that's the focus, a big seller, not necessarily a big game.
But one can hope, right? Something like Zelda and an unconfirmed title coming out over Christmas would be awesome. (S&P2, Starfox, F-Zero, etc)
Yeah, I'm not optimistic about it. It's exactly why I don't like gaming on my Iphone because if you are not looking you can lose track of where your fingers are pressing. With this pad, the problem would be worse since, unlike the DS and Iphone, what you are playing is displaying on a TV, and not on the device you are holding.
But it looks cool, and there may be ways to work around this. This could be an incredible tech.
No, I don't see this as news that Zelda will be 1st person. Truthfully, I hope it isn't, we have Metroid for that. But they are going to have to nail the camera controls just right if it isn't.

Re: Talking Point: The Future of Metroid
This is what a 2.5 D Metroid for 3DS should look like. That. Last picture on the series.

Re: Talking Point: The Future of Metroid
Honestly, give me Other M 2, with less over acting and storytelling. That would be close to a perfect game.
Better yet: do that and give samus some basic mobility while in 1st Person mode, and it would be a perfect game.
One more! Make it a bit more non-linear, to satisfy those that care about such things, and it would be historic.
Re: Rising Star Releases Little King's Story Concept Art Online
Such an incredible game. Wished it would have sold well, developers earned it. Don't think it's possible to raise this to another level.

One of the most charming games most people will ever get to see. Really, it felt like a PRIVILEGE playing this game.
If you haven't gotten it yet, you are doing yourself a disservice.

Re: Trailer: Super Mario Galaxy 2 + Screenshots
From what some people were saying, the level select is because the demo version has no front end. It's just level selects for the demo stuff.
But we'll see. Maybe the hub to the different galaxies becomes a menu rather than that place you start at in SMG1.
Re: Capcom Reveals Everything You Want To Know About Monster Hunter 3
The demo is going to be FREE! Nintendo is doign a shock-and-awe to us gamers today.

Anyone knows if the Demo is available for free and to everyone? Just for pre-orders?

I've heard of this game, but after today, I am officially intrigued. Sounds like good times!
