Re: Talking Point: Six Months Since Launch, How Would You Rate Switch 2?

BanjoBob

I've enjoyed my Switch 2 overall, and for the most part it's exactly what I wanted. I love the backwards compatibility (which was at the top of my wishlist before the console reveal) and I love that they kept the general Switch form factor. I don't love game key cards, but I appreciate they I can still sell them and trade them if I choose to.
My biggest complaint is battery life. I really don't like that I can barely get 2 hours out of the device when playing Switch 2 games. I recognize the the device is extremely power hungry, but I wish they put a slightly bigger battery in it. Even 3 hours of playtime would make a big difference. I was definitely spoiled by the Switch OLED's battery life.
My final complaint is that I was hoping for more Switch 2 exclusives around launch and they just haven't been there in the numbers I was expecting. But there's still so much to play that it feels like a disingenuous complaint.
Overall I am very happy with my Switch 2, even if my experience with it hasn't reached the highs of my first 6 months with the original Switch back in 2017.

Re: Poll: What Features Would You Want In A Switch 'Pro'?

Ultimately I don't think Nintendo will release any new hardware that would cost more than the current switchable switch.
I don't see them releasing a 3rd SKU that could further fragment the Switch family and I'd personally prefer to see a revision that replaces the current switch hardware with a few more upgrades than the revision we got last year, similar to how the New 3DS replaced the standard 3DS.

I would love bluetooth audio support, smaller bezels, no joy con drift, larger internal storage, better build quality, and maybe a stronger CPU/more RAM to run current releases smoother. But I would prefer that the battery life stay the same as the current model and I recognize they probably couldn't do both and keep the price the same.

I really have a hard time believing they will release any kind of revision in 2020 but it'll definitely be interesting to see what happens!
