@OHB123 , how do you feel about games that don't feature a jump mechanic ? I remember playing the original Oninusha and feeling torn that it missed something so basic and felt (in my 12 year old head) somewhat half baked. Since then, I've accepted it as a design choice if it serves a certain experience.
Even so, jumps still serve a purpose to keep your mind occupied as you transverse through levels and backtrack with spamming jump lol. So I always love a good jump, even if it doesn't serve the primary gameplay
The buttery smooth cling onto ledges might need its own category? Silk song might top this with its ease to then string a jump, allowing smooth chaining between successive ledges. Honourable mentions would defo be dead cells and rogue prince of persia I reckon.
Great list, with some games I was obsessed with in the early 2010's, and totally forgot about !
