Update [Tue 5th Dec, 2023 24:30 GMT]: The update is now live, but as per usual, Gameloft has advised that it may take up to two hours for the update to be available.

That means that A Rift in Time is now live (for those who have purchased it), The Pumpkin King Returns is available, and Disney Dreamlight Valley has officially left Early Access.

That's not all, though. A brand new update titled The Pumpkin King Returns is also coming tomorrow, and the developer has shared the patch notes ahead of its drop.

While the end of Early Access has been dominated by news that Disney Dreamlight Valley will no longer be going free-to-play, Gameloft has confirmed it will still be bringing plenty of free updates to the game, including this The Nightmare Before Christmas-themed one.

Jack Skellington will be visiting the valley this holiday season, and a brand new Star Path is also coming to the game, along with wintery Dream Styles for Belle and Ariel. There's also a slew of bug fixes ahead of this new era for the Valley.

NEW CONTENT AND IMPROVEMENTS:
- Get ready to welcome the Pumpkin King to your Valley! Jack Skellington arrives along with new quests and unique items that will help bring the excitement of Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas to your Village.
- An all-new multiplayer mode comes to the game with Valley Visits. Hang out, share items, and collect new Pixel Shards to craft powerful cooking and crafting buffs!
- Make your Valley into a royal winter wonderland with the new Royal Winter Star Path.
- Explore new optional items in the Premium Shop for a limited time.
- Complete new weekly DreamSnaps challenges to show off your unique style and win Moonstones.
- Keep an eye out for gifts and wrapping paper around the Valley with the return of the holiday event.
- Knee length versions of basic skirts added to provide you with more outfit options!
- Have more control over your Valley with the ability to add and remove Villagers using the map menu. Please note that villagers will always appear in your village if required for a quest.
- Some characters have received updates to their animations – enjoy catching them emoting across your Valley!
- Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time expansion pass is available now, offering the first of three epic Acts! Click here to see what you can expect.

TOP CHANGES AND BUG FIXES:
- Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Mickey and Friends, and Moana furniture collections feature small changes in color and shape, all aimed at creating a more cohesive and unified look.
- Goofy’s Signature Hat is now more iconically Goofy – it has been sized up to match his own hat in-game.
- Adjusted hem length of cropped tops to match length of “Heart of Te Fiti” Camisole.
- Minnie’s Dinner Party Gown hem lengthened.
- Roughed up Ralph’s Sturdy Overalls by removing the patches and adding signs of wear and tear.
- Mickey-Mouse-Patch Jean Jacket back patch adjusted.
- Moana’s fishing stall adjusted to more accurately depict her wa'a kaulua.
- A bug related to the Pumpkin House not correctly appearing in the Forgotten Lands for some players has been fixed.
- “Deal of the Day: The Chocolate Fountain”: A bug related to the spawning of ice shards has been fixed.
- “Strut Your Stuff: a bug related to the spawning of Sunbird feathers has been fixed.
- “Lair Sweet Lair”: A bug related to the spawning of paper has been fixed.
- “The Great Blizzard”: A bug related to the spawning of water particles has been fixed.
- “A Broken Sled”: A bug related to the game freezing while trying to pick up the sled has been fixed.
- “What Home Feels Like”: a bug related to the secret chest spawning has been addressed to unblock any players who encounter the issue.
- A bug related to Lioness Statue in the Forest of Valor becoming unreachable has been addressed.
- A variety of bugs related to the appearance of certain items, including furniture and level blockers when viewed with certain graphical settings, has been fixed.
- An issue with villagers spawning too close to each other, causing graphical issues, has been fixed.

In case you're not aware, Gameloft shared a roadmap at the beginning of November for all of its planned free content updates up to Summer 2024. And in a blog post last week, it detailed a number new features that are coming as part of the paid expansion, A Rift in Time.

Looking forward to taking on my top Disney Villain Jafar in A Rift In Time! Adding and removing villagers sounds great for crowd control and it’ll be interesting to see how that’s implemented. However, it doesn’t look like the one glitch I’ve had with not being able to pick up a piece of Prince Eric’s statue in the Glade is one of the fixes…

Not interested in the game but its great to see a new 3D model of Jack,the only ones he had were both from the early 2000s (from Kingdom Hearts and Oogie's revenge).So around 20 years ago.

@Princess_Lilly Nightmare before Christmas is aChristmas movie so it makes sense that the update arrives in these days. Characters are Halloween themed, but the whole point about it is Jack's obsession with Christmas and to teach the main character about the meaning of the holidays.

@Boo_Boy52 Your point? That's how the movie starts and yes, they are on Halloween Town and that's their celebration. This is a comment from Reddit that explains it:

"It's a movie that opens on Halloween night and the entire rest of the movie is almost the whole cast finding out about, preparing for, and "celebrating" Christmas, and then ends with Sandy claws literally saving Christmas at the last minute and teaching the main protagonist about the meaning of the holiday. Sounds like a Christmas movie to me.

The fact that most of the cast happen to be nightmare monsters who work to turn Christmas into a twisted perversion of itself (not because they're evil or trying to destroy Christmas, but because they're nightmare monsters and they don't know anything else) doesn't change the fact that almost the entirely of the plot and dialogue are focused on the time leading up to and the night of Christmas."

It can fit both if you wanna see it that way, but the movie is way more focused in Christmas and it's importance than Halloween.

@Greatluigi I don't know if it's worth to wait. Genshin will probably not be ported, I base that on my own observations - played it on both PS4 and PS5 and PS5 handles it a LOT better. Which means they can't port a PS3 looking game without having PS5 power. that does not bode well for HSR but let's hope I'm wrong.

@roy130390 I watch it every Halloween (except this year) and from my perspective, it's so much more Halloween than Christmas movie. The animation style, majority of action, character focus, it's all centered so much more on the Halloween Town than Christmas Town.

You're not wrong in your interpretation, but seeing that it's mainly set in Halloween Town and almost every major character is a Halloween citizen, and that in the end Jack just comes back to his old self, it can really be argued both ways.

@Princess_Lilly It seems that you got my reply and Greatluigi's one mixed-up. Just to clarify, I understand that it also works well as a Halloween movie, but the point is that the update could arrive in any of these months and still feel "just in time". I respect that you'd have preferred it on Halloween season though.

oh, I thought you meant that it's Christmas movie only. But yeah, it works great as Halloween, Christmas or even out of season movie. It's just solid. I'm still thinking about getting the game, played it for like 20 minutes only, back when I had a game pass, so it doesn't make much difference to me when a certain character gets released
