The 2022 Tokyo Game Show is now underway in Japan, and as expected - all sorts of new gameplay footage and announcements are beginning to surface online.
Japanese outlet Famitsu has uploaded a whopping 13 minutes of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. Showing off more gameplay in this HD remaster.
Keep in mind, this is PlayStation 5 footage of the game showcasing the first chapter:
Following the Nintendo Direct earlier this week, Square Enix also released a new trailer reminding players the game would be arriving on Switch on December 13th. You can see this trailer in our previous post:
What do you think of the above gameplay footage? Did you play the original version? Comment below.

Do we know resolution and/or frame rate targets while handheld or docked yet?
For some stupid reason, my brain did not compute that this is a multiplatform release.
Obviously not getting it on Switch then.
If it’s good I’ll obviously get on Switch
Looking forward to this, but reserved on how nice it will look on Switch, but dont really care as its the only current generation platform I own.
I'm kind of excited that this game is getting a Switch release, but... I have a PS5 for the very reason of playing the new Final Fantasy games.
Finishing off X3 in the next couple of weeks. Just doing a bit of grinding and exploring before starting the final part of chapter 7. Next I will be onto Live a Live and will hopefully complete before Persona in October.
This is on the list but I can only wield one RPG at once. Switch will be my platform of choice. I have a series X with gamepass but need the ability to go handheld.
if I buy this game I'm replaying all the VII games afterwards
i remember really enjoying the original Crisis Core but FF7R didn't really do anything for me so a bit trepidatious about this. the new coat of paint does, admittedly, look really nice.
I would love this game on Switch....IF it actually performs well. If we end up with a Sonic Colors/Outer Worlds situation then I'll have to get it on another platform
This is going to look and run like ass on Switch
Not gonna lie, as much as excited as I am for this game, that footage doesn't look so hot, especially for being PS5 gameplay. Hopefully it'll get a lot more polish before release.
