The surreal first-person puzzle game Superliminal from Pillow Castle Games is getting a gorgeous physical release courtesy of Super Rare Games.
Initially launched digitally in 2020, we thought Superliminal was a fantastic experience, blending unique puzzle gameplay with a surprisingly powerful underlying message. We slapped an 8/10 at the end of our review.
The physical edition will be limited to 5000 copies in total, spread over three unique editions. The standard edition will release with a full-colour manual, interior artwork, an exclusive sticker, and trading cards. This will be limited to 3000 copies.
The steelbook edition will contain both the standard copy of the game alongside a fancy steelbook. You'll also get postcard and a slipcover. These will be limited to just 750 copies.
The big daddy of the bunch is the collector's edition. This will come with both the standard game and steelbook, alongside a 32-page hardback book, a Superliminal pawn chess piece, 3 apple dice, and an optical illusion fridge magnet. This will all come housed in a collector's edition box with a lenticular lid. 1250 copies of this edition will be made available.
The physical edition will go on sale on May 5th at 6pm BST via the Super Rare Games website. Prices have not been disclosed at the time of writing, but we will update the article once we know more.

Neat, this will be the first time I pick up a collector's edition from Super Rare, I've been fond of this game since it's inception.
If you haven't, definitely give this one a playthrough. I tried it on Game Pass out of curiosity and ended up playing to the credits in one sitting.
I have it. It's a good game. Would recommend.
@RupeeClock "Inception." I see what you did there.
Good game. But I'm not gonna bite. It was one of those one and done kinda games for me.
If I look at the game card wrong, will it be too big to fit in my Switch?
A pretty strong start to SRG's next bundle. They've been doing great with their choices lately. It's becoming difficult to remember the last game they released physically that I didn't like.
@nukatha just spin it all around, and it should now fit in the micro sd card slot.
Superliminal is such an excellent game. My only complaint is it ended too soon.
Superliminal is fantastic! Glad to see the game got this treatment!
I don't generally play first person games because they give me nausea, but this one was well worth it.
Prices are on their store page.

@Link-Hero I think the game's length is a crucial factor in deciding whether to import one of these limited releases. £40 or thereabouts for something that only lasts a few hours and then loses its appeal is a tough ask for me. I've not played this game yet, and have been wanting to, but I think I'm gonna it for a digital sale in this instance.
@gcunit
The length depends on how good you are at puzzles, or more specifically, perspective and logic ones. I'm decent at them, so it took me over 3 hours in my first playthrough. If not, then you can easily double or even triple that. There's an area that stumps most, and I'm sure will do the same for you. It took me an hour to figure it out alone.
Superliminal does have player-created levels you can download, which gives you more to do after you finish the main game. However, I don't know if the Switch version has that mode.
